Anyone have any intel on this? The press release that says they're starting NY distribution through Remarkable Liquids mentions "Mass Rising, a new Double IPL (India Pale Lager)" that "will be available in four-packs by the end of the year."

Not replacing Kiwi, I hope... But serious, a Jack's Abby Double IPL in 4 pks? Count me in.

EDIT: Also mentions 12 oz 6 packs of the core beers will be available by the end of October.

I saw that too. At first it reminded me that I thought I heard them initially say the year-round DIPL would be based off the 2nd anniversary lager. But the name Mass Rising makes you think it’s based off KW.

Hopefully they’ll chime in and clarify. But whatever it is…I’m game.

If I had to guess, I'd lean more towards the idea of a "Rising" series, similar to NSB "Nation" series, Backlash Catalyst series, etc. Kiwi Rising is with New Zealand hops, "Mass" rising would perhaps have locally or domestic sourced hops?

At least that's what I'm hoping, because I'm anxiously awaiting Kiwi's return.

Mass Rising will have no affect Kiwi Rising's availability which is still on track for November. Mass Rising is based off of our 2nd Anniversary Lager and will be kept as a year-round offering in 4-packs of 12oz bottles.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. In terms of bottle sizing - is the expectation still that the core brands (plus, I guess now Mass Rising in 4pks) will be 12oz and everything else will remain 500 mL?

That is the plan. We love the 500ml bottle size for beers sold as singles, it is just not a great solution for multi-packs for several reasons.

Great news ... I have to have gotten some of the last bottles of 2nd Anniversary at a Lukes on the Cape (of all places since they hardly, if ever have the core beers) about 2 weeks ago. They randomly had 6 sitting around. Has held up very well. Fresh 12 oz take off will be even better! That 2nd Anniversary is truthfully the first 8+ % beer my wife has enjoyed sharing. Now she can have her own 12 oz-er

How will the six pack pricing compare to the 4 packs?

I'm curious about this as well. I have no doubt it will be reasonable, and on par per oz with the current 4 packs. One of the JA guys mentioned the price they pay for those 500 ml bottles and it was outrageously expensive... A cheaper container might work out quite well for us.

I saw a recent twitter post on "Sucker Punch" (apparently avail at Armsby Abbey)... any details on the beer or availability (I didn't see anything on the JA website). Thanks.

Other twitter news recently: new bottling line in operation yesterday, and Pro-Am Pilsner ("made with Alex Corona") being released today. Thrilled to see these guys succeed, and very optimistic about the new releases.
