Other than seeing that this is "Bohemian," I know nothing about what to expect. I'm curious if there's any more info, and what people think of this one, perhaps in comparison to touchstones like Prima, Noble, and Czech Pils.

I'd like to know what types of hops, IBUs, abv...etc. I'd prefer it to be a little less like Prima and more like Summerfest (Czech vs. German, I know).

This beer is our entry into the Pro-Am competition at GABF this year. This means that we teamed up with a homebrewer, Alex Corona, who provided the base recipe. Jack worked with Alex to scale the recipe up and make changes relevant to our system.

It is a traditional Czech pilsner with Saaz hops.

This is great! Czech Pils is my favorite style of beer and you guys are one of my favorite breweries. Will this be coming out in 4 packs or is it going to be growlers only?

I feel like I am 12 years old and I just found out Van Damme is coming out with another movie.

It will be growlers and single bottles.

Bummer, was hoping for a 4 pack. It's cool though, just the fact that this beer is being made makes me happy. I hope to try some soon.

    Thanks!

I bought mine at my local store... are these not supposed to be on shelves yet? Noticed it wasn't loaded into BA yet.

I think it just released this week, so may have not hit Boston distro yet. Where did you buy it?

Bought it in Somerville last night. Wasn't a huge fan of this offering. Tasted a lot like Jabby Brau to be honest, only a bit boozier obviously. Tasted a bit off to me, couldn't pinpoint it, maybe it's their yeast strain. Missed the boat on being crisp and clean, which is a favorite characteristic of pilsners for me.

I'd say give it a whirl if you're a Jack's Abby fan for sure, especially if you enjoy Jabby Brau, everyone's palate/experience with individual beers can be different.

Edit: Ah, it's labeled as a Czech Pilsner on Beeradvocate, which would make more sense. My post above still holds true for me, but my expectations were more towards that of a German pils. To be honest I didn't read much about the beer before consuming it, but Saaz hops were certainly present. At 40 IBUs though I expected the hops to be a bit more upfront. Not hop-forward like a Prima Pils, but like I said, it was closer to Jabby Brau which is certainly less hop-forward to the tune of 20 IBUs.
