Hello All, Party Mart in Jackson, TN just posted on their Facebook: Black Abbey Tap Takeover on March 1st, from 4-6pm! We will have 7 of their beers along with a special barrel aged product exclusive to Party Mart! The advertisement claims the "special barrel aged product" is B67 - American Sour Tennessee Whiskey barrel-aged american sour ale Check out their Facebook post here.
I no longer work there, but the barrel-aged product is something we initiated while I was. The Jack Daniels Single Barrel we selected for the store in the Fall (still available I think) is the barrel they used for it. We actually worked with the Master Distiller of JD (Jeff Arnett) to coordinate this. I think (but have not confirmed) that the base beer is the Chapter House (Belgian-style amber ale). At some point, souring agents were added. Hopefully it turned out well, but I'd grab a few to hold onto as the souring is fairly young. It'll be interesting to see how that component expresses itself in a few years.
