I'm flying into Orlando and driving to Jacksonville for a couple of days. I need suggestions for bottle stores, don't-miss breweries, and restaurants with good stuff on tap in both places.

Is there anyplace in either of those locations where I can do a mix your own six pack? I really don't want to travel back to NH with a bunch of bombers, nor do I want to have to finish 6 of something before I can go on to something else….and leaving good craft beer in a hotel room on checkout? Sacrilege!

    Thanks!

Went to Jax to visit my brother in June and hit up:

Aardwolf Brewing, Intuition Aleworks both had some good stuff on tap. There are some breweries out by the water as well

Stores: Beer :30 on King Street and Grassroots Natural Market on Margaret supplied most of the bottles we drank.

Bars : Silver Cow, Kickbacks and Mellow Mushroom on St John's

For Orlando, Total wine is probably your best bet for 5 pack mixers but ABC Fine Wine and Spirits will also do and there are more of them. Knightly Spirits will most likely have the most rare bottles if that is your thing.

For bars, Redlight Redlight is a must. Oblivion and Tap & Grind are also fantastic.

No real breweries to recomend here yet. But Cask & Larder is a brew pub with excellent food and beer brewed in house.

I am flying into your neck of the woods tomorrow (Manchester) and then driving into Vermont. Any tips for me?

    I visited JAX about 2X/year.

Fav. breweries to visit: Greenroom Brewing (variety; www.greenroombrewing.com); Intuition Aleworks (consistent quality; variety; great people) had some good stuff on tap. Both serve flights. I've heard good things about Aardvark. Avoid the brewery/restaurant on the water, near bridge across from downtown.

Stores: Grassroots Natural Market sells singles and has a very good selection.

Bar/Brewery: Engine 15 (Jax Beach; not far from Green Room) has a very good selection of guest taps in addition to their own brews. Flights available.

    Bar: Kickbacks (near Grassroots).

total wine and I think grassroots(mix six) let you get singles but I do not think there is any discount. meaning your just buying singles. depends on the type of beer you like. If hoppy I say stick with Intuition. If you like other stuff(Belgian) aardwolf IMHO is the best in town.
though everyone has a IPA, lol.

drop me a bm if you want a local guide, lol. retired...:grinning:

Depends how you go. Through Keene, one of the better bottle stores is Brewtopia. Although, the Brattleboro, VT natural foods co-op has some really nice options, too, and they're a little less expensive. Also in Keene, there's Ramuntos Pizza and they have a decent tap list. There's another location in Lebanon, also with a good list.

Not a Belgian or IPA fan. I like old ales, stouts, porters, scotch ales.

well not much of that here tbh...
all the micro here got a web site with beer list or check BA list.
I asked for a porter here for years, I finally had to start home brewing.
No 1 here wants to make simple beer, well bold city does, but those are a tad too plain for me.

I saw something about a coconut porter from Cigar City that looks interesting…just because of what it is. I homebrew, too, but it's not something I would make because my husband doesn't like coconut.

oh I not seen that 1 up here yet. CCB makes allot of good beer. more in Orlando than here. I am also more into the dark malty stuff. mostly IPA's in the bars here. like most of the BA folks I guess. I love coconut, but I have not gone down that path of adding anything fruit like to a HB yet. I am into Ron's Patterson book. The home brewers guide to vintage beer.

I have a sweet orange IPA and a cherry pale ale on tap right now, both homebrews. The orange is a little too orange for my liking, but the pale, once the cherries were strained out, was fantastic.

I tried to brew a raspberry wheat a couple of years ago and that was a fermentation bomb…it blew the airlock and was everywhere. Scared the crap out of the cat walking by it at the time...
