Jai Alai appreciation

Love having white oak on tap at ccb. I always have jai alai in the fridge!

 

Went to Pensacola for my brother's wedding 2 weeks ago, and thought I'd be in for some Cigar City goodness. Nope, they don't distribute to Pensacola...Fuck.

I did find one place that had a decent selection of craft...so I got to try some stuff I can't get here...but I was seriously disappointed that CC doesn't distribute there.

 

Anti Hero is way better, come on bro.

 

I know. I never saw any at TW since January... they had it for weeks.... tons of it. I never saw any since then. I think that TW employee didn't know his ass from third base.

 

Unfortunately, most TW employess don't.

 

I am not a big fan of Jai Alai. There is too much caramel for me in the flavor. So much so that it could be a an amber/red ale (in terms of flavor), which I don't particularly care for. Just my opinion, so go easy on me.

 

Agreed, Jai Alai is CRAZY good and I myself wish I could get it here!!! I had a kind trading partner hook me up with a humidor version of JA and my god was that outstanding. Would think they're a little hard to come by, but try and get the humidor version, I'd say a good head to head with Heady.

I also asked about the Cucumber Saison and he said they sold out of that about two months ago. I told him it just went on tap at the brewery the other day, and it only comes out once a year. He gave me that look like when Shemp needed cheese.

 

Jai Alai is my staple brew. Almost always have a sixtel of it tapped at the hizzy.

 

Definitely a solid IPA.

 

Ill trade a sixer canned on May 8th for something good from your neck of the woods. I like stouts and porters.

 

FYI, I was at the tasting room the other day and they told me they were going to stop selling kegs to the general public via the tasting room anyways...

 

I was talking about that too, and they said that it's likely that only Maduro will be available from the tasting room in the foreseeable future.

 

I could have sworn they said that even Maduro was being cut off... I could be mistaken, there's a good chance I may have been drinking during this conversation

 

It's also entirely possible that we heard from two different people, one of whom didn't know the whole story. And who knows who that is!

 

They do. Its just a lame amount and sold out quickly. We'll be getting a fresh batch of Jai Alai Wed.

 

Pure garbage that Jai Alai isn't ranked in the top 250 and stuff like Racer 5 is...

 

That's interesting, the dude at Paradise Liquors said they couldn't get any. I assumed he meant they never got any...perhaps I was just there at a bad time.

 

Don't know anything about Paradise, but Annas, Hopjacks, and Ritcheys will all have it.
