Jai Alai, to me, is and always has been the most inconsistent IPA locally available. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, it's almost undrinkable. I quit taking the gamble on it several years ago.

Not sure who you are quoting, but they've got COLA's for Jai Alai brewed at Oskar Blues in Colorado.

Of course, as we've all seen, that doesn't mean it isn't going to be 4-5 months old in some stores...

It appears that your drinking experiences are consistent with my experiences.

    Cheers!

Seems Jai Alai, like the local Hop Drop & Roll, had some magic that fell apart over time. HD&R completely lost it when they got greedy after their gold at the GABF. Rumor was they made short cuts to make more faster then unable to replicate on bigger scale in their bigger facility. Went from gold to no good and I'm not alone on that one.

Not sure what happened to Jai Alai but got some "off the truck" --was <2weeks old--in Fla 3-4 years ago and just didn't care for it. The local versions we are getting in NC are not much better--they are OK-- but moving fast still based on rep. Agree with @CrimeDog and @donspublic that the Guayabera is outstanding.

Guinness in the 360 bar is pretty damn good.
