Not sure, but over a year ago for sure. Gunhaver may be able to elaborate.

Wayne was talking about changing jai alai in the future because of hop demand. Also I remember someone at CCB say they are playing around with maduro hince orudam.

I only drink jai alai right out of the tank. Once kegged it's pretty much completely fallen off.

I thought it was a couple years ago, something about moving from Wyeast 1275 to 1968. 1968 is fruity and would clear better.

haven't had one of these in a while...probably pick up a couple sixers Tuesday when I go down. between nugget nectar and hopslam and showered with extra ipas, I haven't had to get some jai alai.

I will say that my palate has changed over the course of a year. beer I used to think the hops just pop out at you, I find are masked pretty well and pick up other flavors. maybe I just need a detox from incredible craft beer....nope!

Its maduro backwards. I guess they are playing around with the maduro to return it to what it was originally?

I totally get that. I have had beers that the first and second of the sixer are the best thing since sliced bread while the last 4 left me scratching my head because I wanted to drain pour them.

I'm just saying in the cans, it hasn't been consistent from date to date like it did a year ago IMO. I can't always drink from the tank like you guys but I still love drinking Jai Alai.

This is the most pretentious thread I've seen in a while.

Correct, 1968 is more flocculant. I use 1968 a lot for a good variety of my house beers.

I don't see it as that. I see it as a possible opportunity for CCB to examine how Jai Alai tastes over time at retail. If they are only sampling beer at the brewery, this won't give them any idea on retail taste 1, 2, 3, 6 months down the road.

This had me thinking, so I went and grabbed some Jai Alai that I had in my cellar from December. It really lost that hops kick, but it was still good. I think this would happen to any IPA though. That's why everyone wants their fresh IPA's now a days. It's just the nature of the beast.

I only eat/drink the raw ingredients. All four of them. Amateurs.

Jai Alai has always had quite a bit of batch variation in my opinion. Sure, palate variations are a real thing and likely a contributor to most subtle differences day to day. But Ive had batches that are dramatically different, malt forward with hop profiles that are no where near the normal Jai Alai level. Some have even looked different. And its just not Jai Alai, some of my other favorite IPAs have been the same. Its still a great beer. Batch variation happens though.
