I've got about a case of rhubarb jam in the basement from last summer that I'm thinking about using in a beer because it's a little to thin to be used as a jam. It's got rhubarb orange juice and table sugar and it's canned so I was leaning toward sugar feeding a big beer most likely ris but have never done anything like that is there any reason this wouldn't work?

I don't see why it couldn't work. Do you want rhubarb flavor in your beer? And do you know how much sugar is in the jam you are thinking of using? (Rhubarb itself doesn't contain much sugar IIRC.) Also, you'd be adding pectins to your beer. Do you mind adding haze?

Used some strawberry jam once. It works an there was strawberry flavor, but fresh fruit is what I prefer for flavor.

Haze doesn't bother me. I was thinking about Using it in a Stout or porter. It's very sweet and syrupy I would think it would add quite a bit of sugar if I remember right it had a ton of table sugar in it.
i hear ya a guy in my brew club made a blueberry sour that was amazing, and I don't like sour beers
i would but I'm not a fan of the style
