Label change or recipe change? Had Darkest Hour not received approval yet? I swear I've seen it on shelves for the past month.

    AWESOME! Good week.

I was looking into Dreamcrusher and the label looks the same:

But their original label approval (for kegs) is at 10.7ABV and this one is at 8.5%....but that could have been the case for some time as well.

I am curious what ABV the current cans show to see if I am correct.

I was so disappointed when I tried this and found out it was no longer a Rye IPA. Tasted like straight grapefruit juice.

I really hope this doesn't mean that Ruthless Rye is done. That is one of my favorite seasonal offerings and I always drink the hell out of it.

The local Sierra dude said on Twitter that Ruthless is around but only in the IPA mix-packs.

Man that is really unfortunate. I haven't met a single person who didn't care for that beer. I'm shocked that they haven't brought it back in at least 6-packs.

And it appears that Four Corners "accidentally" got bottles approved instead of cans. All the labels are for cans....

It's not that I didn't care for Ruthless, but I won't miss it. Rye tends to take away from IPAs more than add to them IMO.

For anyone that cares about Ruthless Rye, I sent an email to Sierra Nevada. This was their response:

"Thanks for reaching out. Beer Camp Hoppy Lager has replaced Ruthless Rye as our spring seasonal, meaning Ruthless Rye is not available in a standalone pack. That being said, the beer is available as part of our 4-Way IPA variety pack this year, which has been released nationwide. Check it out here: http://www.sierranevada.com/beer/specialty/ipa-variety-pack. Our new Beer Camp spring seasonal will be a rotating label each year as we continue to honor our roots in innovation. While we do not currently have plans to release Ruthless Rye on its own again, we have learned to never say never around here, so thanks again for the feedback."

tl;dr No more Ruthless Rye on it's own.

Has anyone seen Hoppy Lager in DFW? I look everytime I'm at the beer store.
