Jasper/ Winfield AL 5-23/5-25

    I will be in the Winfield and Jasper Alabama area memorial day weekend I will be coming from Chicago so I believe we travel through Birmingham . I'm looking for a store that would sell Mexican cake. Also looking to try a local Alabama beers I've never had not sure what the brewery scene is or craft beer selection for Alabama would apreciate any advice or help

    Mexican cake is all gone. The best store in Birmingham is Hop City. It is in downtown Birmingham

    Yeah...Cake was pretty much gone the day it landed. HopCity is a must stop. As far as breweries there are 4 within a few blocks of HopCity...Good People, Trimtab, Avondale, and Cahaba. If you are coming down I-65 I would recommend also stopping in Huntsville. Blue Pants and Straight to Ale are a couple of good ones to hit up. Below The Radar is a great place to eat and get some good beers.
