I've got a good friend who is moving to Jax later this month for a job. Although he isn't on BA, we're definitely planning to make our return to GABF this fall...so he's always looking for good brew. I figured that for a going away gift I'd get him a visa gift card and some recos on good bottleshops in Jax. Can anyone provide some good recommendations? It looks like Grassroots and Total Wine...any others? Thanks!
Grassroots and Total Wine are awesome. You also have Broudy's @ the beach, and they just opened Beer:30 over near Grassroots. Also...lots of local spots with growlers
I'll be there for 2 weeks as of this weekend. Any suggestions for pubs or local beer I can bring back to San Antonio?
Get some intuition beers. Their people's pale ale is better than a lot of pale ales I have had(better than SNPA,IMO). You can also look for some cigar city brews as well go take back. I like jai alai, tocabaga red and the Cubanaoespresso brown just to name a few.
Go to Riverside, get a taxi there. Have them drop you off at Bold City, then walk down the road to Intuition, after that walk another 300m to Kickbacks, enjoy some food and an insane tap and bottle list. If you are nice and lucky you can get a ride home arranged for you. have fun!!!
I am assuming you mean Jacksonville, Florida as there are a few other Jacksonvilles in the South-Atlantic region! There is a brewery/pub called The Green Room there! I still have not been to the brewery but we get kegs of their beer down here at TBC sometimes! The Undertow Barleywine is amazing as well as many of their other brews! I would suggest finding them as well! Cheers!
There is also that place in Orange Park that I hear is really good, cannot remember the name, it is pretty much just off the 295 exit across from the Target shopping center. I usually make it a point not to go to Orange Park, so I am not much help there, but again, from what I hear, it is worth going to ohh just remembered, Brewers Pizza, right? cheers
