Thanks bud. I already knew that information, was more or less hoping for any rumblings closer to the source. And I wasn't talking about trading Sue or Zee but passing them out for free to my BA brethren

Ah, I see now. I misread that, very generous of you. I visit family in Iowa once a year and drink all the Toppling Goliath that I can while I'm there. The TG delivery truck broke down when I was there this summer, so I just missed a shipment of PseudoSue bottles.

That sucks man. It's been really nice now that they started to pump up distro. I live on the Nebraska/Iowa border and they previously didn't go west of Des Moines. Feel spoiled now that we get both TG and Surly. Like I said, to anyone who views this thread and will be at JK on Friday the 28th, let me know if you would like a bottle of Sue. I'll try to bring as many as I can

Fen Tao is the most likely special release.

If anyone knows anything they'd be wise not to post it before JK.... Unless they don't want to get any bottles

Good call man, didn't want to rock the boat or anything was just curious as I have no idea on lines, wait times, etc for the releases. Don't want to ruin anything so guess I'll just find out next week like everyone else

I believe that was a bit of an inside joke. A pending Fen Tao release is public knowledge at this point, but no one knows exactly when.

I'm hoping it's not next weekend, just so that it doesn't clash with Freetails big release day

Random question - but does JK allow bottle shares there at their brewery? I've been numerous times, but never noticed any shares going on. Is this by their rule, or I've simply not paid enough attention.

If they allow it...anyone interested in one this weekend? I'll be down. Figure it'd be as good a weekend as any, sans crazy bottle release hysteria.

They are a business. They rely on people drinking beer there and paying for it. The reason you do not see bottle shares there is quite simple - they generally do not want bottle shares there. They want you to drink the beer that they are selling.

It would be like going to a bar and BYOB your own bottles. You would be kicked out.

Sure, they are more lenient at JK and will let people share a bottle or two and not say anything. It is when you get into the organized bottle shares where 10 people show up with a bunch of bottles. That is when you come into problems.

They used to allow it more than they do these days - but times have changed with the law changes. They do have some organized bottles shares randomly (Zwanke Day), but other than that, they are few and far between when they let people host large bottle shares.

Basically, if you want to have one, get permission from them. Otherwise, it is best not to do it.

Had a Figlet a month ago and I thought it was great. Perhaps time tamed that beast well?

Always possible with JK beers. I find that I enjoy them best 6-9 months after release. Hopefully the smoke calmed down on that one and its more balanced now. Will re-visit

I'm not clear on how dining with Eloi Deit of Brasserie Dunham at Odd Duck and coming away inspired by a dish constitutes a gimmick. Beer making is an extension of the culinary world, and flavor combinations apply just as much to beer making as cooking. Our beer is often inspired by food. 2015 Hibernal Dichotomous was inspired by a citrus, beet salad we had at The Kitchen in Denver during GABF. - Jeff

It still does sound like it would be a good start to a curry. And I like curry, so I am guessing I will like drinking this beer.
