I agree and accept that the culinary world can be used as a launch pad for developing new beer recipes. Regarding the #gimmick monikor, perhaps I should have developed my tongue-in-check jab more or not listen to my own cynicism. I've never seen or heard a beer that combines sweet potato, chili peppers, and coconut into a farmhouse ale base, and my comment was based off the huff and puff nature of beer geeks who lose their minds when beer recipes based off doughnuts or a recreation of a 5,000 year old recipe thoughtlessly get labeled as such.

I just had some yesterday. It was pretty good. It had their usual farmhouse funk/sourness with mild coconut and chilli flavors. Didn't taste any sweet potato, but probably because it was hot as baws outside and the beer warmed up too fast.

I went one time and someone was selling Pliny's in the parking lot. I missed out because I was in line for Atrial.

I enjoyed this beer. You can really take the coconut in when nosing this beer, and it finishes with a nice spice. Like the reviews are saying, not much of the sweet potato, and I think this will be better with some age.

You probably can't taste and sweet potato because it's sugar and it ferments out

"And [bring your own beers] your own bottles." That makes sense, right?

I've never been kicked out of a bar for bringing my own bottles.

Without naming names, several bars in Houston allow/encourage this.

Do you allow bottle shares during tasting room hours?

No. We have occasionally authorized bottle shares to take place at specific times, generally outside of our regular tasting room hours, and we may do so again in the future, but outside of this, bottle shares are not allowed. Any open containers not purchased at either Jester King Brewery or Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza may be subject to confiscation and subsequent enjoyment by our staff.
