    • My only mule is my wife and she's actually quite like a mule. Ornery, stubborn "I don't want to go to Jester King AGAIN!". And sometimes she kicks me.

Sooner or later those people will realize that it just isn't worth it. It may take some time, but they will move on.

Beer is much better when you buy it to enjoy with your friends instead of paying a bunch of people solely to send that bottle off to someone they likely will never meet.

Haha sounds familiar. Gotta give it to my wife, though...she even makes the trip for me when I am out of town (for very special releases). Just gotta take her out to a nice dinner to help forget the 2-3 trips to JK weekends

That should be the case. We've sold about 2,000 bottles thus far. - Jeff

Or you can do what I plan to do. Buy a home on the same street as JK so I can beat Matt chow there everytime. He is my ultimate rival in the Texas beer scene.

He is Frieza, I am Goku.

More often than not, I do not consume their beer on site. I grab bottles and leave. For one, I gotta drive and two, the beer tastes better out of the bottles.

I said nothing about it being a requirement, simply that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Too much of the beer scene now is to support breweries only when they have something "valuable enough" to buy

I dunno, anytime that you have to pay for someone to go somewhere with you does not seem like you are enjoying your time with friends.

Maybe I consider buying someone beers to enjoy if they are friends one thing, but paying someone cash to be there as another.

I was going to try to make it to JK around Halloween for this, but damn mules are going to get all the bottles before I can find time to escape from the suburbs with my wife and 4 kids! I also complain when I can't waltz into my local HEB and pick up Bourbon County. Guess I'll stick to Fort Bend Brewing for now.

And seriously, if any of you have ever met Matt Chow, he's crazy generous with his bottles. I barely know the guy, but he literally walked around the SMABRD share pouring beers for complete strangers. Really no reason to make him a villain for playing within the rules.

Lets stick to the topic of beer guys, not mules.
    Thanks.

Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow on thursday. 4 bottle limits per person. You should follow them on Facebook to get updates.

Wow, this thread took a turn this weekend.

Off topic, but the beer is pretty great. Definitely in the top tier of their fruited beers for me. Estival was also really good. Probably my favorite of the dichotomous series so far that I've tried. I typically go on Sundays where it's more relaxed, but had never been in the evening. There were only 10-15 people, it's really quiet, etc. I wish I could make it out there every Sunday night. For the inevitable questions that pop up this week, I was told they were on the last keg of AL, but it sounded like they had a lot of bottles left and expected to last well into or through next weekend. Obviously, that is speculation. Panic at your own discretion.

Drank 3 pours of this on draft yesterday. Lovely lemon lacto and bursting with apricot. This is my favorite of the reproduced fruited sours, perhaps my favorite JK beer period. Happily had my cousin with me as she was able to make a tour for once. I'll probably be in line Saturday and possibly Friday towards close.

Sidenote: Saw some cases of Buddha's Brew up top...had me hoping that another collab with those guys happens in the coming years...the dry hopped Kombucha from them was an eye opening experience for me.
