Shit I'll give someone a 4 pack of BCBS for it right now. 2 someones, in fact. JK beers are much better, to me.

Out of curiosity, why in the hell does anyone care what other people trade their beer for? Afraid of losing value? If its that much better than what others are willing to trade for it why than not just drink it yourself?

It's BA brah. Drink what you can and trade the rest. JK is the Blue Bell of beer.

Normally I'd agree with your sentiment, and I'm not disagreeing here but perhaps rather shedding some light- the general feeling, perception, and actual observation by those local and ever present at JK is that why hoard/mule/shepherd to just turn around and essentially trade it away for brew that trades at a lower tier? That's not a mark on the ISO beer ie BCBS, heady, etc, but rather an insult to the beer you're trading away. The FT individual is essentially being taken advantage of under the guise "well, gee, both parties were happy" at the cost of a bottle that was a challenge to get by the previously alluded to ever present.

I think it is more that people who hoard/mule to trade don't want their "market" to be undercut by people who trade for a beer they want that isn't rar.whalez

"An insult to the beer you're trading away" ??? I have no idea what that even means. I just gave a Vanilla away for nothing, so I guess I just insulted the shit out of that beer.

    I wish I could post a gif/meme right now.....

What I said was actually in agreement to what you said earlier, just worded differently. But I apologize if that didn't translate over, I could see how it'd be misconstrued. You giving away vanilla however doesn't surprise me especially if you did so for JK (I wouldn't consider that "giving it away", but rather fair) as you stated you enjoyed JK more than BCBS already.

What it means is strictly in reference to Jester King- that there is a feeling that people that get these bottles "just give it away", a la the references to Heady and your "2 BCBS" claim.

What I said was merely the feeling by which people that love JK have as to why we don't appreciate that- it's an insult to the greatness of that beer. But in reality you're right, it's not insulting the beer at all, it's more a thought that those that make those trades are ignorant, and that's not fair to them either, as you debunked w you "giving [vanilla] away" statement, and you're not ignorant, I don't think at least. All in all though, what someone does w their beer that they bought w their money is their decision, and I've got to Just appreciate that at least they too enjoy Craft Beer

This is the way it should be IMO. If I want to try and "trade up" with a JK beer for something like BVDL than so be it (not that I would, I'd rather have most of JK special releases over that anyways). If I want to trade a JK special release for Heady even though I can get Heady with something less then so be it. Sorry if I offend anyone with my trades one way or the other but they really shouldn't care that much what other people are doing with their beers.

You know as well as I do that many times great trading relationships are formed over trades like that or maybe I just gave a craft beer lover who can't attend a special release and has no "ammo" to trade for a JK a chance to try it when he/she otherwise may not have had that chance. I'm not saying every trade I've ever made has always been in "favor" of the other person, I'm saying it goes both ways and as long as the two people who are trading THEIR beers to each other are happy then it really shouldn't concern anyone else.

I'll leave it at that, didn't mean to take away from the title of the thread. The beers sounds delicious and I have an A&T to trade for a bottle. Never mind, how about a 4 pack of 3 week old Heady? Perhaps some Bomb! for those who weren't able to get it?

You really didn't understand Kmello's post. He didn't give away a vanilla as in trading it for JK. He GAVE AWAY A VANILLA. As in Hey bud, heres a Vanilla Rye, enjoy!

Some people just give beers to people cause they are friends/nice. Crazy, I know....

I'm somewhat split here. While I don't advocate holding beer hostage, I do see the value of trading what its worth on the open ISO:FT threads. That doesn't mean I look down on folks that give JK away for IPA's, I just think why give away your JK bottles for beer you could get with less efforts and get to drink your JK bottles. By all means, if you wanna lock a trade down fast then do whatever you want, it's YOUR beer and YOU get to decide what you wanna do with it.

I feel with a beer this limited I'm going to drink it or hook up established trading partners. I'd never even think of going to open ISO/FT. But I am totally cool with everyone else doing whatever they want with their beer. I'm on Brad's Bandwagon, do what you want, give it away, trade for whalez, trade for heady, in the end, you should probably drink it at a share b/c its going to be delicious!
