I believe Jeff said they had it to where there should be batches coming out every three months or so.

Thanks. It's a limited release beer, but it's one we're always trying to make more of with the hope that it will be a year-round beer as time passes and we hopefully add more temperature controlled space for oak fermentation. I think Funk Metal is fine to cellar.

This is great, everything is sexier when it's redacted.

lol, I think its funny... how did TABC know it was the restaurant? why can't it be named after the thing that horses and cows actually lick? Censor the story, not the front label. IMO.

How does Thirsty Planet get approval for kegs of Franklin BBQ Smoked Porter then? Different rule for kegs and bottles?

I don't think you need to have label approval for kegs. Which explains how kegs of Salt Lick have already been tapped around town.

When you check the TABC web site, they always show label approvals for plenty of stuff thats keg only, so it seems like it has to go through them as well. I dont understand this system nearly well enough....

Maybe because kegs don't have a graphic label on them.

The work-around might be that the Thirsty Planet beer, on its TABC documents, is just called "Franklins Smoked Porter" and not specifically Franklin BBQ. JK says the issue is with

"a malt beverage bearing the name or trademark of a Texas retail licensee"

But what about Buddha's Brew? Im not from Texas, but isnt that a retail licensee?
