I saw this written somewhere else as well and I think the confusion needs to be cleared up: Governor Perry certainly can veto the bills and if he does, there is no recourse for another two years.

The law in Texas is that vetos can be overridden (by a 2/3 majority of both houses) but only during the legislative session that passed the bills in the first place. Since that session officially ended on May 27, a veto by Perry is final.

We'd have to approach the legislature in two years with a new package of bills, hoping the same thing didn't reoccur.

Also note: the legislature is currently still meeting, but as part of the first Special Session of the year, during which they can only discuss legislation proposed by the Governor, and which technically is not considered part of the session that passed the beer bills. This is a separate session.

I don't think it matters in Texas? Never has for me.

This. The windshield in my Jeep was cracked from the top left all the way to the bottom right and it passed. I was told I should get it replaced, but it had 6 years worth of beach parking passes that I didn't want to get rid of.

And on topic, I hate knowing that Atrial Rubicite is ready, but have to wait to get bottles :slight_frown:

I hate knowing that they will have AR at the brewery while I am there on Saturday and I can't taste it. Maybe someone can mistakenly leave a bottle out on a picnic table during the day.
