CS tasted like crayons to me. I didn't like it. But I had Ol Oi at the brewery and it was really good. I'd say Ol Oi is to CS as Überkind was to Wunderkind.

If that's not in line with what they want to make from then on, why keep asking for it?

It'd be like asking Jolly Pumpkin to make a traditional doppelbock.

"Hey, Live Oak makes great German style beer, but I wish they would make spaghetti. Because I fuckin' love spaghetti."

Some Live Oak Spaghetti could be pretty delicious when you think about it

Yeah... but Jolly Pumpkin totally makes spaghetti in their brewpub.

... Therefore I win this argument.

Hey, I fuckin love spaghetti too! Who would make a beer that would pair better with a bolognese sauce, Jester King or Live Oak? Or should I just stick with a red wine?

    Gonna try this one:

    3 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 onions, chopped
    • 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
    • 1/4 lb white mushroom, sliced
    • 1 carrot, peeled and diced
    • 3 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
    • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
    • 1 teaspoon basil
    • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
    • 1 (14 ounce) can peeled plum tomatoes, chopped
    • 1/2 cup dry red wine
    • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
    • salt and pepper
    • 1 lb thin spaghetti
    • Tabasco sauce (optional)
    • 3/4 cup grated gruyere cheese

    1. Heat olive oil in deep pan or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onions, bell pepper, mushrooms, and carrots. Cook until soft, 5 to 8 minutes. Add half the garlic and all the ground beef. Continue cooking over medium heat, using a wooden spoon to stir and break up the meat with, until meat is no longer pink.
    2. Stir in sugar, oregano, thyme, basil, red pepper flakes, and parsley. Add tomatoes and juices, red wine, and tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 35 minutes.
    3. Add remaining garlic. Add Tasbasco sauce, if desired.
    4. Cook spaghetti; drain. Distribute among four bowls. Spoon sauce over spaghetti. Top with Gruyère cheese.

Here he goes with that wine BS again. I bet you drink it with your pinky up.

I'm pretty sure one of us is going to have to drive down to SA and give this man some beer. Between the wine and the spaghetti he's obviously sauced!

If anyone follows the artist that does jester king's label art on instagram, he posted a few days ago a preview of what I'm pretty sure I'd the label for raspberry sour beer. Looks like the inside of a chest cavity with a raspberry in the middle.
