As of a few moments ago, Fitzhugh Road was closed for the low water crossing. I don't see a viable alternative approaching from the west. Guess I'll go around to the East.

I would assume that will be down long before they open today.

Yes, but likely that something else new will be available then. New releases seem to be happening weekly now

YUM! One of my favorite beers from JK. I was able to get two bottles today at opening but vacation will victimize my other weekend days before it sells out. I may need to procure additional bottles from the Austin crew...unless everyone drinks them :slight_frown:

Low water crossing from west is marked closed.

    No real line yet. Enjoy!

Given that JK averages something like 400, 1000, 700 people on their three public days (with non-crap weather), only half of the people have to buy two Detritivore for it to sell out in one weekend.
Whether they half buy or not... who knows.
I'm pointing out that it CAN sell out in one weekend and the people saying that have steady legs to stand on; they're not just trying to hype the beer.
If you want to see crazy hyping, look to other regions.

I was out there today around 3 or 3:30, and it was pretty quiet, despite there being 3 tour busses in the parking lot. It was also pretty dark and about to rain, so it might have kept the numbers down today.

Maxed out on bottles, assuming that even if it makes it to next weekend, it wont make it to next Sunday, which is the next possible time I could go. Love this beer so much - if anyone wants to unload some, or some foedreweizen, you know who to call.

Was there today from 7 to 9. Didn't see many people buying any bottles at all. Should make it to next week, although Sunday might be tough.

Same here...didn't see long lines buying it in the 3 hours I was there. But after tasting it I think I know why..

Really? I'm interested to hear more, because all the people I know who drank it this weekend had nothing but rave reviews. What was your take?

ok, my experience was a bit weird. First glass tasted watered down and didn't have much flavor. Toward the end of the evening I decided to get another glass to see if I still felt the same about the new batch. The second glass was much better. More cherries and a subtle tartness. I have no scientific evidence as to why the two glasses were that different but it was weird to say the least. Don't judge a beer by one glass.

I had a similar experience with my glass of Detritivore. The taste was overly effervescent, and could only pick up a faint taste of the cherries. Others I was with loved it, while I was indifferent. I'm curious to try it out of the bottle.

Yeah for me the cherry flavor was too faint and all I got was the typical Jester King sour flavor which is why I thought it was average for them. Had the Boxers and Coquetier as well and liked both of those much better than the Detritivor. Only left with one bottle of the Detritivore and that was simply for a trade.

hahaha, you mean even after the Jester King blog stated it would be more subtle, which is what they wanted? I enjoyed it, and liked that it was less sweet as well. To each their own.
