I have a friend visiting Austin, TX right now and I was going to have him pick me up a few bottles of Jester King. I know the brewery is in Austin, but he's staying in the downtown area and I didn't want him to have to go that far out of his way to get the bottles (he's not big into craft beer).

So my question is this: what is the best bottle shop in the downtown Austin area for selection and availability of Jester King. Also, is there any chance RU-55 would still be available in bottle shops?

    Cheers,
    John

East 1st Grocery will probably have some JK and is near enough to downtown, good luck finding RU-55 though. Haven't seen it on shelves for a couple months.

Edit: also try the Whole Foods Downtown location

East 1st Grocery has a shitload of Jester King... I was there this morning. They've got Commercial Suicide, Das Wunderkind, Black Metal, Noble King, Wytchmaker, and Salt Lick, iirc.

RU-55 is long gone... lasted about a month after release back in February/March. Sorry. :slight_frown:

Good luck! Hopefully you get some sweet stuff.

Relatedly: Consider me jelly of your Mexicake and your BA Mexicake. Sigh.

I was really hoping this was going to be a thread about JK opening a taproom in Austin.

Trade you an RU-55 AND Funk Metal for the Apple Brandy one.

    Just FYI.
