I wish we had more batch listings of beers on BA. While some batches are almost identical, other batches of a beer are very different. That's what is fun about craft beer, the variation.

Another example is the Greenhouse IPA series. Each batch uses a different hop schedule with different hops, but all we have on BA is the all inclusive single listing. These are actually different beers that all get muddled into one giant rating. I've had several batches, some tasting nothing like the previous.

I agree with Greenhouse IPA. I think it is pretty clear that that should be considered a different beer, and that just goes to show how un standardized this site can be. Anchor OSA is the same way, and is treated as a different entry each year. Though, different batches of the same beer should not be treated as different beers. I am starting to see entries for Nitro beers, like Founders Oatmeal, and Nitro Oatmeal Stout, or Old Chub, and Nitro Old Chub. Those are the same beer, and there is no need for more than one entry. If you think there is variation, that is what a review is for, but most people just click "had" now instead of actually giving any info on what they drank. Anyway, getting off topic, even though it is a topic I think is worth discussing more in another thread...sorry for the derailment

Thats fair, but theres just so much variation batch to batch; as long as the old ones are moved to retired, it doesnt bother me

Agree with both of y'all. Nitro doesn't make a beer a new beer.

Also agree as long as a previous batch is moved to retired, this should work.

I've had both, and I couldn't disagree more. These are better than last year's.
