I plan on going up some weekend in the future and was wondering how much they charge at the brewery for bottles? Do they charge more for special releases? Thanks in advance
Take a look at the bottles to go menu on their site. They update weekly for each weekend. This past weekend's. http://jesterkingbrewery.com/tasting-room/
Typically their bottle prices range from $12 for some of the more "regular" releases, up to $16 for some of the more limited stuff. Also note that some bottles are 750ml, and some are 500ml (mostly the fruited sours). These prices are the same, or sometimes slightly less, than what they used to cost when bottles were distributed to stores. And now all of the $ goes to the brewery, rather than half of it going to a distributor. Win win!!
Thanks guys, what time should I get there? Do they start selling when they open? Will be a day trip from Houston so I will want to hang out for a bit before heading home.
I normally day trip it when I go over to JK from Spring. If you're going on a Saturday, getting there early is great because of the lack of lines for beer or ordering a pizza. The times I have been there, it'll start to get busier around 1:30 - 2 pm, which is right around when we'll head back. Sundays seem to be really quiet early, and might be even so with football starting up. The problem with doing the day trips though - once you start, you won't want to stop.
Come up on Fri or Sat, spend some good time at the brewery, stay overnight so you can really enjoy yourself, and make sure to eat at Pieous at least once. You can thank me later
So does JK even do any distro anymore? Not talking about rare stuff, even though my first bottel of Boxers was bought off the shelf in SA!!! I love Black Metal and have been in the mood for Noble king but the couple of shops i go to dont carry their stuff. Is the distro super limited now. Just for fun, other JK beers that I have bought off the shelf, Das Wunderkind, Das Uberkind, Weasle Rodeo. Look how far we have come.
They just sent out some Noble King into distribution this week and last. I believe a bunch more will be sent out over the next month of other beers.
Of the recentish stuff, Provenance O&G, Wunderkind, and Noble King hit distro. I can't remember if Petit Prince did, but it's likely. I think Uberkind hit limited distro, but I'm not sure.
