I was in a group for a while but got out. I don’t trade anymore and I don’t hunt. If I can’t find it when I go in to Total Wine, and I work next to one, I just don’t get it. If you want to shoot me a BM with the group names, I’d appreciate it. Cheers!

Did you read my initial post or the post using Highland Park Brewery as a reference point? Not sure if you're understanding the concept.

JK is basically printing money. I doubt they are in need of whatever minor boost membership marketing strategies might bring. Seems to go against their laid back, egalitarian model anyway. Show up, buy what they have, eat some pizza, and pet a goat. Mellow and simple.

@jesterkingbeer yiu should totally put that on a tee shirt:

“Jester King Brewery: Show up, Buy Some Beer, Eat Some Great Pizza and Pet a Goat.”

Right, this would be a way to give back to some of the most loyal followers that helped with the money printing process. How is having some perks not laid back?

You guys really don't like even the idea of change do you? lol

They are giving back to the most loyal followers by releasing Atrial this weekend

@michael78747 it's not a matter of "getting over" anything. It's called discussing an idea on a message board. The closed-mindedness on this thread isn't surprising but still pretty astonishing.

Closed mindedness just because you’re not getting the answers you want. A lot of people are not in favor of it and that includes Jester King. Maybe not for the buy in style you’re proposing but all other types of clubs/reserves. Your question, if you want an answer from the horses mouth, should be emailed to Jester King.

@icetrauma no, closemindedness because not one person has been willing to admit a single positive quality of such a system, and there would be some undeniable positive outcomes.

But hey, if people don't like it, it's not gonna happen.

What wine club are you aware of that offers perks to customers based on their spending, and does not come off as extremely douchey?

    Above question only half-rhetorical

I'm done with this one, putting a bullet in it. You can think whatever you want about it obviously, but I probably shouldn't have made it a public question & discussion as @icetrauma said, because people are too reactionary.

The clubs that exist like this don't really make it publicly known and just send invites to the customers directly.

What do you mean by "reactionary"? Do you mean having a different opinion than you?

I don't think there is anything wrong with you rehatching this discussion. That is one of the reasons these forums exist, so that people can discuss beer. Said discussions will include opinions, and some of those opinions will not be shared by everybody.

People are not reactionary; your opinion is just not popular (and that's ok).

@Can_has_beer the origin of 'reactionary' or someone who is reactionary is someone who defends the status quo, so thought it applied here.

Don’t do that! Let’s keep it alive, don’t let these cyber bullies get to you. Tell them if they don’t like your idea than they can fuck themselves, especially @icetrauma and @starkmarvelo (fyi, they’re two of the worst in this forum).

I'm just cracking up that you're talking to us like we're the people you need to convince. Like we're in some dimension where 1) Jester King hasn't already taken a strong position against exactly this sort of thing years ago and 2) we, as a bunch of assholes on the internet, will be able to convince them otherwise if we just all band together. There are dozens of us! DOZENS!

Lol, understood. A year or two ago I picked up a case of Banquet to drink while watching the Pantera home videos. The case didn’t last long and it’s the one and only time I’ve purchased Coors that’s crossed the threshold of my front door.

    ....

I got my 6 bottles of Atrial today. Didnt take much effort.

@mig100 - your idea isnt bad at all, it just likely isnt for the craft-crowd.

Its an odd thing to wait in a beer-line. I often feel like Im standing in line with a bunch of folks who work for $15/hr and are using a good chunk of their paycheck for whatever beer release we are all in line for. Im sure this isnt everyone, but Im also sure its some (maybe even most?). Seems to me your priorities would be a little misaligned if you're waiting to spend $120 on beer and you dont own a home or have anything set aside for your future, but thats just this conservative's opinion.

High spending customers do deserve to be rewarded. I definitely appreciate these benefits at other retailers that I frequent. And, to me they make sense - Im loyal to said-business & said-business is loyal back. But you'll have a tough time convincing this crowd of that.
