Agree 100% and often think the same thing, and know a decent amount of people that fall into that category as well, unfortunately. But hey, to each his own.

Seems silly, and whether or not you agree with me this kind of thing can actually help influence a brewery's decision making process. I see it time and time again.

Your assumption of craft beer drinkers gave me a good chuckle today. I needed that. Must be nice in that ivory tower.

He kinda rite doe. Plus the ivory tower has tons of amenities, maybe one day @icetrauma you'll be able to experience it. Just keep saving up and you'll get there. Don't get discouraged.

Once again, your assumption makes me laugh.

Listen - @icetrauma & @mig100 - I respect you both as fellow craft enthusiasts. I recognize your avatars and ruitinely see you on this forum. I throw ya both a "Like" routinely - esspecially in the national Beer Talk forums. (I think) youre both Houstonians - as am I - and if not Houstonians you're obviously Texans.

Im not trying to further this argument. But seriously @icetrauma - getting some kind of priority at JK wouldnt be a bad thing. Certianly not if youre a loyal customer there.

IMO - with so many incredible Texas craft options today - waiting in any release line is annoying as fuck right now. Five years ago, waiting in line kinda came with the craft-hobby. If there were a way to get around the lines (at least at your favorite brewery's releases) then thats not a had thing.

I see where y’all are coming from and I can understand y’alls thinking as well. If it wasn’t for the history of JK saying no clubs/Reserve Society, I’d say go for it and good luck. Waiting in lines, IMO sucks and is a waste of time, but is a necessary evil to obtained the limited released brews. Until JK decides to change their business model, it’ll be hurry up and wait in line. It wouldn’t hurt to contact JK to see if they are interested in y’all proposed model.

That sounds great but they would manage to f it up like most of their releases.

Maybe you could elaborate on how they "f up" most of their releases besides that you're upset that you were able to drink gallons of Atrial on tap for multiple weekends, but weren't able to get it in a precious bottle to show off to whoever?

This thread is pretty amazing. The entire premise is "I want Jester King to give ME more and I'm mad that you don't agree" and then a self proclaimed "conservative" says "High spending customers do deserve to be rewarded." Deserve! LOL! You deserve more than the product you're paying for!? That's a conservative opinion!? Please tell me you guys are all in your early 20s and/or were drunk when you wrote these things.

That's a very bold assumption about a total stranger. Who waits in line for beer?

Drinking it on tap was great. Idk about gallons of it. Maybe people want a bottle so they can transport that bottle to a different location to be shared with friends and/or enthusiasts. You know, beer advocacy.

I live far from the brewery, like a 7 hour drive and a border crossing included. I do try to make it to the brewery 1-2 times every year. For my purposes a club/reserve thingie would be awesome where I could buy in and pick up some bottles once and have them for methodical consumption throughout the year. I'd very much sign up.

5 years ago, I would say I'd die to be a part of a special release club. But lately (I'd say for the last 2 years) in my last visits they've always had some amazing lineup and available bottles to go. Usually at least one fruited sour, and I would add that their odd beers are getting better and better.

I think the fact that you are still commenting in this thread despite saying "Nah, I'm done" earlier means that you are the one that's triggered *********. Thoughts and prayers.

Ah, both "*********" and "thoughts and prayers" in the same post. If you need help I can show you how to upload an Avatar. It's only been 7 years.

I'm sad I missed this exciting thread. I for one am in favor of the buy 9 beers on draft get the 10th free model. You get a reward for spending money and being a loyal customer without pissing everyone off with bottle purchase drama

When JK “bottles to go” sales become stagnant then you will see a hyped up reserve membership. It’s simple follow the money, Lost Abbey and Crooked Stave went back to their memberships.
