Jester King sightings

Bonnie The Rare and Weasel Geek Rodeo should be dropping this week or next. I know Bonnie the rare has been sighted in Austin already.

I railed through my savings and credit card last week though to pay for school and car repairs..don't think i'll be able to get either.

Whole reason why I started the new beer release thread, might have to have a "houston" tag at the beginning of my posts to give yall a heads up.

 

I havent been on a huge sour kick nor have i been a huge fan but i picked up a bottle of La Folie the other day at specs cause i hadnt ever tried it and i was suprised how tart it was but more suprised how drinkable for me it was.

 

Though expensive, I still think La Folie is probably the best sour we get in texas. A must try for any sour fan...

 

Ya I kind of noticed that. Jester kings distro was so sporadic, and no updates on here I had given up on them. Next thing I know its sold out. Fortunately I was at a specs near my house(northside) last weekend, and they had boxers and drinkin' on the shelf. Oddly enough they still had og black metal as well. Hopefully when weasle and bonnie iis released there will be more updates.

 

Just got back from vacation...looks like I missed a few releases, hoping to get on the Bonnie wagon. Is Bonnie the rare still avaliable anywhere in Austin?

 

JK is "widely distributed"? Not so much from this thread & my experience in TX (crickets on JK during recent trips to AUS, DFW & HOU). But in each place I encountered lots of (512) Real Ale, St Arnold, Shiner, Live Oak, Rahrs ......to last me YEARS for drinking.

Can't understand why everyone chases JK...mediocre unattainable beer IMO when lots of other beer around....including Deschutes...New Belgium...Sierra Nevada...etc.

 

what is deschutes? is new Belgium a Texas local? Sierra Nevada? I've never been there. I'd bet it looks beautiful there. Tell me if other beer companies cause I know only of jester king.

 

Really? Where did you look? I can walk into my Specs right now and find JK Black Metal, Mad Meg, Wytchmaker, and La Petit Prince all over the shelves.

Huh, I thought (512) and Real Ale were 2 different breweries, and I doubt you found any (512) on the shelves right now.

 

Does 512 even bottle? I've only ever seen it on Tap.

 

WBB Double Pecan Porter is bottled once yearly, and I think they've bottled a few other things as well

 

double pecan porter and wild bear are the only 2 ive had bottled in the 3 years ive lived here.

Love it when someone out of state posts incorrectly about things, in reality, they probably never had.

not only that, these "recent trips' couldnt have been very recent as i can pick up most Jk offerings, since about a year ago, pretty easily.

If anyone in Austin missed out on Boxers or Drink'n, just saw several cases at Specs Southpark Meadows.

 

Ummm, don't want to sound like a cracked record but CM Westgate still has Boxer's.

 

Any Bonnie in Austin yet? Anyone have an ETA?

 

Total Wine & More just got Drink'in, and WFM Park Lane and CM Dallas still have plenty of Drink'in. Spec's Dallas has Boxer's and Drink'in.

 

I'll probably wait on Bonnie the Rare until I see some reviews. Didn't love it at the Jester King tour I went to a few months ago. On the other hand, I didn't care for Boxer's Revenge at its debut either, so I'm willing to be persuaded.
