Jester King sightings

    Did I miss something or did Houston just never receive Boxers? I havent herd of anyone finding it.

    Just from my personal experience I think what Houston got was fairly limited. I went around town the other day and couldn't find any, but there was plenty of Drink'in in the Sunbelt.

    Which is weird, because it seems to be just sitting on the shelves here. Specs near me still has plenty, and I even saw a bunch at my local HEB today (which normally has an awful beer selection). I guess thats the advantage of living in/near Austin, where JK is concerned.

    I've noticed the same thing in San Antonio with both releases of Boxer's, as well as BGR. A handful of HEBs had these beers on the shelf long after Gabriel's, Alon, and Central Market had sold out. I've been told that JK has a contract of some sort with HEB. While it's nice to see some surprises in the beer aisle while I'm grocery shopping, I'd prefer to have those extra cases sent to the retailers that actually take their beer selection seriously, especially since HEB usually seems to have a higher markup than Gabriel's and Spec's.

    Yes. Boxers is $13.99 at Specs, and $15.50 at HEB here. It will sit at HEB for a while, I think.

    That would be news to us. I sign our contracts, and there isn't one with HEB. That sounds illegal to me anyway.

    Thanks for the clarification, Jeff. Perhaps it's Virtuoso that has the contract, or perhaps I was just grossly misinformed. Either way, it seems odd that there are HEBs with otherwise pedestrian beer selections that somehow are able to get Boxer's Revenge and BGR on the shelf.

    $13.99 cash price, $14.99 credit. you have to make sure they run your card as debit or it will be the credit price.

    You're quite right, I went back a couple days later and they had it back on the shelves. Definitely in the future I'll ask if they've got something before I assume they're out of it.

    Was at D&Q today. He has some boxers and a ton of Drink'in. Just have to ask for the boxers.

    Swung by Spec's Dallas tonight, and picked up a few Boxer's. They still have five cases in the back of both Boxers and Drinkin.

    Dallas Specs is always higher than the other area Specs. Distrubutors charge more to come here for some reason.

    Sounded like we might see Weasel, Whiskey, Bonnie, and Das batch 2 (the only one where I think an 'penciled in' date was attached) in August/September.
