I figured this would be pretty close to 1:1 for many reasons. The guy I was talking to says JK trades 2:1 for Barrelworks. I usually do limited for limited & $4$ so am I off here?

I would imagine Barrelworks to be the smaller case count of the two... I see it going 1:1, but thats just me.

I've traded Atrial 1:1 for Bretta Rose and Feral One before.

you should be able to do 1:1 on most of the barrelworks.

Depends on the beers I'd say, but usually 1:1 in my book

1:1 all day...Barrelworks has been mostly responsible for all my JK small format bottles. To hear the blanket statement that Barrelworks trades 2:1 to JK would probably make me look elsewhere for a different trading partner.

I wouldn't have a problem with 3:2 for the case limit BW bottles but 1:1 for the 3-4 limit BW bottles

The 2:1 must've been Lil Opal for Fen Tao :stuck_out_tongue:

I can't see how you make a blanket statement on this, so I'm wary of someone saying 2:1 on everything. I think it depends on the JK beer (MvB, CdT and a few others tend to trade higher because of limit, etc) and the cost. A good trader will work out those details, and not get hung up on a specific ratio or number.

Good luck. Those barrelworks beers are awesome. I want all your SLOAmbics

Piling on to agree with the sentiments above - so you can see it's pretty universal.

The Firestone Barrelworks stuff seems relatively slept on and I can't figure why. Just doesn't seem to be the same "buzz" about them (and Allagash) ... and the only reason I can see for that is this perception because they are good at IPAs, stouts, barleywines, etc, their wild stuff doesn't have the same rarity cred. Same argument goes for Allagash ... the ready availability of their Belgian style stuff seems to make the coolship stuff less drool worthy.

I'm fine with that though ... I'll take those Barrelworks and coolship beers all day long.

Man, no losing on that trade as they are both sooo good. What did you think of krieky? Batch 2 comes out this spring I've heard.

Krieky was disappointing for me, very light on the fruit. I got mine for one Atrial. Bretta Rose and Feral One I got for an Encendia and a Hibernal Dichotomous. I would personally not do 1:1 for most JK sours, but it depends on the specific situation. Maybe that's because I was let down by the "best" one. I did love Sloambic, but my experience with Krieky didn't really make me all that eager to try the other ones.

That's weird, I got tons of fruit out of mine. More so from the bottles over tap, but IMO the bottles where really heavy in Cherry.

Also, I'd have to say that Kreiky was a very good showing for barrelworks, but I don't think it was the best. Feral Vinifera is tasting ridiculous good right now...I've been meaning to update my original review. One thing I keep having to remind myself about Barrelworks is that 2015 will be their second year of the program; taking this into consideration, there is a lot to look forward to.

But Krieky benefits from "fruit inflation"; take any beer and put fruit in it these days and people automatically add .5 to the rating. ;-)

Feral One and Feral Vinifera were excellent. I'm looking forward to SLOambic and El Gourdo.
