Sounds like the peppers dont overpower the beer from the reviews. I had avoided this because of the other peppery beers ive tried, the peppers overwhelm my buds.

    Sounds delicious from the reviews

Still some left at Central Market south. On tap anywhere in Atx currently? Been a few weeks since I've had any.

Anybody who missed out in Fort Worth let me know. I nabbed a third bottle today and I hate to bogart the stash if a fellow 817 BA missed out.

Otherwise I'll be opening my first one on Wednesday evening with a nice venison frito pie with the lady.

Had it on tap at the Saucer downtown over the weekend. Really enjoyed it. Nice coffee stout up front, and the peppers only kick on the aftertaste. Hopefully I will score a bottle soon to try it bottled.

I believe they said it's the same as Boxer's, Das, etc., but I could be wrong.

Anyone have a bottle they want to trade? I had not idea about this beer and I was a huge fan of Beer Geek Weasel.

This is the non barrel aged release though correct? Next round they are using the whiskey and real Kopi Luwak or is this the one you guys are referring to right now? I NEED IT!

I think its a little more. Das and Boxers were around 2400 right? This seems like at least 50% more, based on where I have seen it around here in Houston and how much each place has gotten... I could be wrong tho

It's an absolutely delicious beer, in limited quantity. I tried to drink a whole bottle, and the chipotle eventually just numbs your throat because it gets so warm. I really enjoyed about 12oz of it though.

When I go to Thai restaurants, I order it Thai spicy, and ask them to bring extra Thai chile peppers on the side. Even despite my sincere appreciation for spicy food, the chipotle DOES get overwhelming in this beer if you drink more than about 12oz of it. Up to that point, it's absolutely amazing though.

This is the non barrel aged version, the barrel aged version will be out later in the year and will be the most expensive beer brewed in Texas according to JK.

If The Bruery can get away with charging $35+ for their highly sought after brews I don't mind dishing out the dough for jester king.

I agree, but JK(or anyone in TX) has not produced a beer on par with Black Tuesday. When that day that comes, I will be so proud of Texas.
I hope to be proven wrong. The $17 I paid for BR was steep but after my first glass, I was happy to pay that and would do it again

I thought Boxer's Revenge was just ok, but really loved Das Wunderkind! Absolutely worth the price. Boxer's was worth trying at least once, and I'd be curious how it changes over time as it tasted young to me just yet. I imagine it will improve with age and blending.

    Cheers,
    Chad
