Out of curiosity, does anyone know what batch of RU55 this is? It has no batch number sticker on it, has a different label, and has just a plain cap (instead of the current JK caps). I have no idea if multiple batches were made with this label though:

    Compared to the last batch:

Send it to me so I can taste it and let you know.

    It's the only way.

I believe there was only one batch with the old label, but I could be mistaken. Jeff Stuffings is really good about answering if you private message @jesterkingbeer.

Well, you tagged him in it already, so he will see thread. I probably should have just done that originally.

I actually grabbed two of the "old labels" from a secret location last Friday. These are the last batch of JK beers that were distributed before they switched over to Flood. I've been trying to figure out an age as well... Guess was close to a year.

I know that this one is at least around a year old. But, it could be more.

I bought one about a year ago and I don't remember what label it was but do remember it had the current cap on it.

So, did those bottles have a plain cap or JK's current cap?

If I was betting I would say that is a first run batch of RU-55. If I remember correctly the bottle that I bought in DFW back in Jan 2013 had the newer caps on it.

***edit*** I thought I bought the first running of RU-55. However, the bottle that I bought had the same label as yours but the newer cap. So that's purrdy weird and I'm not really helping at all :slight_frown:

I'll have to look when I get home, but I'm about 90% sure they are the old plain cap.

If I remember correctly, the first two batches were released with the old label and undated, but the first batch had a gold cap and the second batch had the new cap.

Thanks for digging up the old thread. I show Batch 1 of RU55 being bottled on 07/16/12.

Excellent... It's hard not to go out there on a more regular basis (about a 20 minute drive from work). Grabbed the last two RU's last Friday.
