Hazelnut brown nectar is a staple if you ask me so when I found the John John rum barrel aged series last year I was stoked. It is no doubt a good beer but not quite as good as the original if you ask me, as if something was missing. But all that is beside the point, tonight while drinking a John John hazelnut I noticed online the ABV was 5%. I drink the regular hazelnut weekly and remember the ABV is 6.2%. Does the ABV decrease when aged in liquor barrels? I guess I'm just used to liquor barrel aged beers being well above average. Please help me understand
    Thanks all-

Even so still a decrease from the original just thought that was interesting.

rogue doesn't even list the ABV on their site for the regular hazelnut brown, and from what i remember, it doesn't appear on the bottle either, though i could be wrong. you've seen 6.2 on the botte?

Just checked a bottle and your right, not on bottle so it must be stuck in my head from Ba. I didn't realize the % weren't confirmed by the brewery so i guess I've just always went off Ba. Thanks for pointing that out man
