Johnson Controls on Garage Fridge

Does anyone have experience using a Johnson Controls thermostat to regulate temp on a garage fridge? I live in Central Indiana and am slightly concerned about temps dropping too low in jan/feb. Garage is attached to the house and shares two walls with the house. Based on my (likely inaccurate) temp display on my opener, garage temp rarely drops below 32 even in the depths of winter. Anyone have a similar set-up and can you confirm that the fridge temp doesn' drop too low below the set temp (likely 55)?
