I was at M&R Liquors in South Windsor today and found a few bottles of Jolly Pumpkin's Bam Bière. I had no idea they distributed here...and I am still not sure about the scope of their distribution. I've never seen it anywhere else and Bam Bière was the only variety in the store. It also wasn't placed on the store's main craft beer shelves, it was on a separate shelf - sort of an odds and ends shelf - to the left when you walk in the store. There are more bottles available.

Anyways, I created this thread because I don't remember hearing about them being distributed here...or did I just miss it? Has anyone else spotted Jolly Pumpkin in Connecticut?

I bet they have been here for about 5 years or so, that is if they in fact are still here. Haven't really seen much in quite a while...

I agree with jaxon, its likely they remain from when they were distributed in CT years ago. I still have a local store with some on the shelf, ick.

That's funny. So they pulled out? It tasted fine to me!

That it is. I reviewed that very batch around two years ago that I grabbes from M&R. I've found some over the hill La Roja as well in Storrs.

JP beers age insanely well, even under less than ideal conditions. Have had 4 year old Noel that was amazing and just opened a 2 year old calabaza blanca that was perfecly sour and tart. I wouldn't hesitate to grab older bottles unless the conditions were very adverse.

My bottle "exploded" a bit...some fizzed over into the sink. But it tasted on point for sure. Like at least as good as I would expect that style of beer to taste.

Anyways, one of JP's distro guys responded to me on Twitter tonight:

Confirmed today no JP in CT yet, hope to send JP before the end of the year. Thank you for your interest!

    So that's interesting...

when Shelton Bros. was distributing in CT still they carried some JP beers. It was short lived and Shelton Bros. is no longer in CT. :-(

Not sure if it is the same as here, but it appears that Jolly Pumpkin (and Shelton Bros. in general) have recently come back to RI.

Interesting..if @psenka's tweet is true then that's good news. Would be great to see them come back to CT.
