Someone on the FB page mentioned Di Viento GR? Is this even something theyre making? Regular just came out what....maybe 6 months ago....probably just enough barrel time for a regular release let alone a grand reserve version.

I posted a question on there about the DV GR, haven't got a response back...this whole thing is a little odd

Ha that was you.....Im kind of confused about it too. I really think someone just mentioned it amusingly, unless you heard if somewhere else?. I really cant see it being remotely possible unless it was a beer they were already making and just changed the name.

Okay here's what happened - on Friday night, a poster who was either Ron Jeffries or somebody posing as Ron (can't imagine that would be the case however) posted a message that they do indeed have a Di Viento GR that was aged in Dark Dark goose mead barrels from B. Nekar, which is a coffee mead aged in (wait for it) BCBS barrles from GI. So you know, that all sounds pretty darn good. And the indication was that in fact was going to be the release on the 22nd, even though that did seem to me and everybody I'm sure to be a pretty short amount of aging time.

But now, I may be mistaken but it look slike that post was removed and I cant find Ron's account b/c I followed him when I saw the post. So not really sure what to make of all this. I hope the DV GR is for realsies b/c that sounds badsass.

Oh, and feel free to hit me up on facebook if you'd like.

EDIT: Corbet just posted the answer b/f I finished with this

I have and one person mentioned it and then the barrel age was questioned, noone answered. Im just saying thats the first time ever anywhere, I even heard DV GR mentioned. All of the GRs I've read about have AT LEAST 12 months int he barrel...some more...some a lot more. There just simply hasn't been enough time for a DV GR release.

That would make more sense to me.

De Viento was a joke, by the way. Apparently BA's are very good at reading far too into things.

Yeah I saw the post you quoted and but I never saw the actual post. Yeah I agree it sounds amazing. But if that was in fact the case B Nektar just released Dark Dark goose what...a month ago, whenever they had meadfest .....so depending on when it was bottled we probably wouldn't see any DV GR until this time next year at a minimum I would think. If it does come to be that thats what he did it should be fantastic.

    As for the hit up....sure

The problem with anyone believing that post from the other day is that it said there is going to be a DV GR that was aged in Dark Dark Goose BARRELS. There was only one barrel of Dark Dark Goose. If you read the story about Dark Dark Goose, Brad from B. Nektar got one spent BCBS barrel from GI and drove back to Ferndale with it on his roof.

Like a boss. WishI had a pic of the barrel on his roof.

Considering this is typing out words on the internet how is anybody supposed to take something like that other than at face value? Sounds like an inside joke with JP people that obviously most people aren't a part of. Well, I guess that's a shame, it sounded pretty great to me

that was a fake account. The avatar was just ridiculous, no way would a professional brewer have that as their avatar. Also, the account was created that day... so there's that.

Also, it's called "JollyRonJeremies" (as opposed to Ron Jeffries)...

Edit: You can still see the avatar if you click on "JollyRonJeremies likes this" on this post

Yeah I did see that it was created that day, didn't think too much about it. I've met and interviewed Ron Jeffries before, I know him to be a really laidback, fun dude that never takes himself very seriously. Although a little strange, my thought was possibly one of his staff did the avatar for him and they all thought it was hysterical.

    Color me gullible I guess.
