JP leaving the Groton Market

    To all of you that know me or the store Wednesday will be my last day as beer buyer for the Groton Market. I haved moved to Somerville and have accepted a position at Giles Fine Wine in Medford. I assure you that the Groton Market will still be a great destination for Craft Beer and other Artisanal products. I'd also like to thank all my friends and customers who trusted me and guided me through my 17 years at the Market. We have shared many bottles together. I hope to bring some of that magic over to the new location as well. Thank you all.

    I guess I'll have to change my Beeradvocate name too. Hmmm. Any ideas?

    I was wondering when this day would come. For selfish reasons, I am disappointed. I have appreciated your knowledge of all the products out there, efforts to bring in new and hard to get beers, great recommendations, and enthusiasm for the craft. You valued your regular custormers and in turn we stayed loyal. Hopefully, Groton Market realizes how important that is and find someone to carry on that philosophy. Do you think they would be open to allowing me to sit in on the interviews? I want to make sure the replacement has a twisted sense of humor, appreciates 80's metal, and gives me first crack at all limited releases....That would be acceptable.

    Thanks for everything and I wish you the best. It's a small community so I'm sure I'll see on the circuit somewhere.
