This evening I went to Freshcraft after dinner

They had Pliny on draft (was there around closing on Thurs pm and it wasn't on)

chatting to my barman he suggested it would not last until Sunday!

Ordered my 3rd pint and the keg kicked, he gave me around 2/3 of the last pint (still perfect condition) for gratis

    It really is IPA perfection

Finished with a Schmaltz - Funky Jewbilation a masterpiece in it's own right! dark fruits, fruit cake, malts - a wonderful after dinner beer !

I've purchased so many bottles over the fortnight that I will never find room to take then all home, I'm starting to feel like an alcholic.

Missus is in bed, half midnight and I'm working my way thro' a bomber of Deschutes " Hop in the Dark CDA". Nearly there, then bed ... zzzzzzz

Ah yes,the Organ Grinder, one of a load of cracking good pubs almost side by side.
Blue Monkey burst onto the scene at the Robin Hood Festival where 19 firkins were sold.Love all their beers.See lots of them around.

I'm tivo-ing the flotilla stuff to play in the background later. Have got a fridge full of US beers plus 12 Kernel beers that I've imported to share. I'm still not happy that I've got enough, so am forcing the wife to take me to a liquor store. (In exchange I have to sit outside Old Navy for literally an hour while she tries stuff on)

Well, at least you didn't have to go in...
Hopefully it was a fair exchange without any speculation of a potentially 'questionable' relationship with bottle. I've been there before.

So far tonight I've had a Pilsner Urquell, Meantime's Union and FD's Doggy-style. Can't say I've really been following the Jubilee celebrations with any seriousness. I also haven't really noticed any Jubilee beers around up here - is anyone else coming across them or is it just in pubs?

Just pubs for be, except for Co-op and M&S own brand ones. Wanted to try the Castle Rock one but my local Tesco Extra didnt have it :slight_frown:

As it's cold and rainy I think i'll finish off the weekend with a Black Cab Stout.

Right Thats better, slight technical issue there. Theakstons hogshead bitter, Green King London Glory, Victoria Bitter, St. AustEll Tribute, Dorothy Goodbody Stout Worthy's White Shield, Castle Rock Harvest and Free Miner Salutation all pretty dull and standard with Tatton's blonde&obscure and Oakham hawses buckler stopping it from getting too boring however with the anti bees all I can do is read the labels :slight_frown:

Off to see 3D Prometheus tonight but will probably opt for a bottle of Fyne Ales Jaar when I get home.

M&S now selling Summer IPA. Summer IPA is (more or less) Adnams American-Style IPA. Adnams American-Style may or may not be American style but it is hoppy and 6.8%. 6.8% is session strength when you have nothing to do the next day. Having nothing to do the next day meant I bought six bottles. Six bottles cost a tenner.

    Hic.

6 pints of Adnam's in a beer garden near the sea in Norfolk under a cloudless sky.Throw in a brilliant band and that's as good as it gets.
