Fruit juiced infused IPAs don't work for me hardly at all anymore. Only a small handful I've liked, most taste artificial to me (even when it says natural juice added).

NEIPAs are still my fav. but like others have mentioned, I struggle to drink them many consecutive nights or I lose a taste for them. I have the greatest appreciation when I have only 2 or so per week or so and mix with other styles between days. Pallet fatigue is a real thing.

Why hasn't this thread been merged with the recent beermosa thread?

It's because the taste that we associate with fruit has a lot to do with sweetness/sugar content and when that fruit sugar is fermented, the taste of that fruit changes.

Pretty much covers my take on this. It was mindboggling trying Green Flash West Coast IPA for the first time. And NE IPAs - Hill Farmstead. Trillium. And I searched them out and embraced them . I still love them . But variety is the spice.

Mosaic has an odd taste to me so I can never drink too much of it, usually a one and done for me.

I am fond of the juice forward IPA's, but they have to be well done. What really makes me like an IPA is if it has a sweet malt backbone and some lovely bitter interesting hops. Most of the time I don't like IPA's that are golden in color, but more the orange, amber kind.

I had a couple GF Tangerine Soul Style beers one night, and while I like a lot of GF beers, this was not one of them. Crazy part is, I have always loved tangerines.. so there's that. I don't typically seek out fruit beer (I prefer hop induced citrus flavors), but I'm not against them. If one tickles my fancy on a dull day, sure.. I'll buy it.

As for what I seek out, I like NE IPA's, WC IPA's and just about anything in between. Lately, I seem to find comfort in the malty-IPA world.. with a good bitterness kick. As others have stated, variety is best for me. As long as I don't stick to one style, I'll be fine.

Heh. I got sick of NEIPAs for a while, too, and switched back almost exclusively to West Coast. Now I'm gravitating towards New England again. The secret is just to drink good examples of both styles. As @EvenMoreJesus said, if you drink a big enough variety of beer styles, you won't have to worry about palate fatigue.

This is one of the awesome things about IPAs now, they’re covering a lot of ground so you can avoid palate fatigue even by drinking enough variety of them alone. I personally am a “beer in all my hops” kinda guy so I could go from drinking NE to satisfy dry hop cravings to black IPAs for the malt and whatever in between. Definitely do crave the classic west coast style after getting tired of other ones.

Variety is the easiest way to tackle that problem.
I suggest you take a break and get into schwarzbiers.

The only IPAs I've had that I didn't like and Black IPAs. Just doesn't work for me.
