I don't know if anybody will give a crap about this but I made a little Excel document that spits out the bottling date if you put in the Julian number & year. I couldn't find a dedicated converter online and I know they're fairly easy to estimate but I'm an engineer and I like having things like this. May be more trouble than its worth but now I can easily figure out exactly how fresh that bottle of Hop Stoopid I just bought was (almost 3 months, oh well). https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9995742/JulianDate.xlsx
For people with android devices, I have this one on my phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=whynotnowtoday.juldate&hl=en Basically just a calendar you can swipe through to find the date. Very quick and easy.
I just say that a month on average has 30 days and do very basic math to come up with the answer. I dont need an exact date to enjoy my brew
Just count by threes. So in July or August a beer that has a julian day of 175 is perfectly fine to buy .
