In a pickle so I need some help. I'm in Worcester for the day and I can't make up my mind what package store I should go to. I'm not gonna have much time so I will only be able to go to one. Which one should I go to?
I want to say Julios is closer - you may want to check both stores Facebook pages and see what they recently got in to decide.
Regardless of time, I know you mention you're not going to have much, Julio's is the place to hit based on where you are.
sorry, was just trying to be funny. Have been to Julio's just once and Yankee dozens of times. Yankee seems to have a great selection.
I made it a point to stop by Julio's for the first time on my way back from Tree House yesterday. I was pretty haggard from waking up at 5am to be able to shift my work day so that I could make the trip. However, it was totally worth it despite the lack of sleep and torrential rain. Imagine a Nickelodeon Toy Run in a beer distributor's warehouse. It's like that...except make sure that you pay on the way out.
Made the 1-1/2 hour trek to Julio's yesterday. Brought home 24 new beers to try. Yankee beers are a bit more organized on that back wall but Julio's seems to have more choices and friendlier employees.
Yankee spirits is not in the same league as Julio's in my opinion. Yankee's employees make you feel like a dirtbag for asking for limited releases that they don't put out. (If you don't want people asking for it, why not just put it on the shelves?) They also don't do a mix-a-six discount as far as I know, so it's harder to get a variety. In contrast Julio's gives a discount on 6 any size, so it's great to get 5 small 12 oz and then a more expensive bomber for a nice variety at a discount
And I think Yankee (as well as many other stores mark up) for single bottles, so you end up paying more if you make your own 6.
So much of this. Not to mention many of the bottles that magically never seem to make it out of the back at all. I guess when you have employees that will take care of your stock of limited releases you don't even need customers.
Glad I'm not the only one. When I missed out on parabola they laughed in my face and told me they never even put it out, when I asked for merkin they were pissed at the inconvenience of having to get it out. Whats the right answer over there then guys? In contrast Julio's us are always super helpful and pleasant.
