June - Texas Label Approvals

I've seen La Folie at two different places in San Antonio.

 

Like Bay Area and Shell station are representative of Houston area.

 

Ahhh but you had at least 1. The Modus Vivendi is the same as the Modus Operandi. When bringing the beer stateside they had to change the name because of Ska Brewing's Modus Hoperandi. I also know where has been at least 1 other beer that Wild Beer Co. are bringing to the states where they had to change the name for the same Trademark reasons.

I picked up some in the Woodlands on Sunday. Granted, that's not Houston...but I was happy to not make the trip into town for a change. No idea why any of the usual stores in Houston haven't seen it yet though.

Don't mind at all. Hubble and Hudson Bistro had it Sunday, but they had a case out, so I don't know if they had more. The Specs at Indian Springs show it available as well per the website, for what that's worth.

The TTB just made it much easier for breweries to get specialty beers to market. While Texas breweries still need to go through TABC for label approval, most beers will no longer require a formula approval through TTB, which has been taking 2-3 months lately.

Just an FYI if anyone missed out on Mirror Mirror, TW Dallas has them sitting on the shelves now, no limit, $15.99/bottle.

 

I was thinking the same thing. I bought some originally here in Waco, to drink and sit on, and decided I wanted more to sit on for longer and had no problem getting it from an HEB two weeks after the initial purchase. I'm wondering if Deschutes made it more known, like big print on the bottle, that this was released every five years if it would sell faster.

 

Same for me, lol! I grabbed two right away thinking it was limited, now it's sitting on shelves, there were at least 12 on the shelf when I was there. Confuses me too, did Deschutes just send more or were there some cases left on a truck or in a wharehouse forgotten about? Hurts my brain to try to decipher that much information all at once. Time for beer, helps ease the pain.

 

I might have completely missed it, was Stickee Monkee released in Houston yet?

 

Houston selling it within a month of it's release everywhere else, that's funny.
