last january I won Microbrewtaster's perpetual LIF V. He asked what I was into and I said gumball head or any locals since he was in that region. fast forward to May 1st. I shot him a conversation and asked if it was still going to be honored or not. He replied that he couldnt get any gumball but he would see what he could do. I replied to just send me any locals so we could move on. May 23rd I let him know that I had talked to a few BA's and they suggested giving him a few more days then post a message in the forums about this incident. I wrote him but never heard back. I am still going to continue on with the LIF since it is perpetual. so keep your eye out for that. In the mean time maybe be cautious about trading with Microbrewtaster.

My guess is that since you specifically mentioned Gumballhead, he really wanted to get you some. Unfortunately, it has been increasingly rare to find any on shelves (from my understanding), so I would imagine he was/is still holding out. As for why he hasn't responded since May 23, I know he just wrapped up the school year with finals and everything, and then hopped in the car to head to his summer location, so that's probably why he hasn't been on. Though it looks like he should have received that message, as his profile says his last visit was on the 24th. I'll shoot him a message as well and see what's up.

I'm sorry, I am not in the LIF scene, but are you saying you won this thing in January and still have no beer?

thats why I said "or any locals".. as far as college is concerned. I understand we are all busy. I just started my new company, sold my house and am having a baby. But still have made a few trades in the meantime. I think 4 months is enough time to grab a local sixer and throw it in a box

Wasn't trying to make excuses for him, just giving you some context.

As far as I'm concerned, bailing on a LIF that everyone saw (therefore increasing BA rep/karma) is bad trader status. Add in that this is a perpetual LIF so to even enter into the part where he "won" means that he EXPLICITLY knew he was required to pass it along (basically the same as an agreed upon trade at that point)... that's even more bad trader-ness.

See what MarkIntihar comes up with first I guess, but this dude should be added to the bad trader list.

Heard back from him the other day, and it doesn't look promising. I would definitely caution people that try to trade with him right now, as it sounds like he's in a major state of flux. OP, I'll be in the Chicago area this weekend if there's any FFF stuff you'd like me to keep an eye out for. I'd be more than happy to send something your way.

Please, please add him to the bad trader list. Major state of flux means absolutely nothing. No box = deadbeat.

I'll leave that up to the OP to decide, as it is he who is out a box, not me.

"Doesn't look promising" because he's in a "major state of flux?" What does that even mean? Did you say to him "Hey, take 20 minutes out of one day and send cosmo4u a box of locals?"

I know. Don't misconstrue that I'm mad at MarkIntihar or anything. Just saying that doesn't really do much to explain why this guy bailed on his end of the deal.

I got the submission for the bad trader. I contacted him as I always need the 2 sides of a story before I add anyone to the list.

He pretty much confirmed what MarkIntihar said before.
He told me to list him and that we all had different priorities.

I may have missed something, but what's the point of running a LIF if you're not going to send the winner beer. Isn't this something generally ready to ship?

Well I spoke with him back in like December and he told me he was from Miami and back home (in Miami) for break. He was studying engineering but I don't remember where. I could hazard a guess that he's not in that region anymore because college is out and he's now in Miami and can't get those Midwest beers. Another guess is maybe he graduated and still hasn't found a job which could account for his state of flux since he has no idea whats gonna happen with his life right now. I never met him in person but he might be one of those all too often socially awkward engineers and doesn't really know how to deal with this kind of a situation but who knows. All I can tell you is that I'd bet good money he's not in IN anymore because schools out.

While your conjecture is entertaining, I know him personally and he did tell me a little more detail about what's going on. I just didn't feel it was necessary for all of BA to know the details of his personal life if he didn't want them aired. He's already conceded that he should be on the Bad Trader List per oldp0rt's post, so as far as I'm concerned there's nothing further that needs discussed. Trade with caution.

Ok, so a couple things that I would like to address in this matter is 1- I do have somethings going on that make it impossible to ship right now. 2- I will send the box eventually and will not trade with anyone else until I send it. 3-I requested that I be put on the Bad Traders. 4- Cosmo4u I do regret not being able to send the box and I do believe it was unjust on my part.

Edit: I also think that Oldp0rt could have handled the situation better than he did.

Could you be more specific, from your point of view, how it could have been handled better, so we can all learn for future reference?
