Hey all, scoured the archives but couldn't find anything in the first few pages.

Heading up to a lake house outside of Portland the first week of September from Boston. Making a beer plan now - I tend to gravitate to Bissell on my Portland trips but have also enjoyed Goodfire and Austin Street the last few times I was up. Definitely not tryna go out anywhere, but wanna hit a few places to grab cans for the week.

Whose got the best stuff as of late? Anything in particular I should target? I remember there being a craft store that had a pretty good selection of singles downtown but not sure if it's still open or not.

    Appreciate any insights!

Judging by your post, you are an NEIPA type of guy. Looks like you have that covered. Other than that, just put Bier Cellar (NOT Craft Beer Cellar) into your GPS and go there for a wide selection of Maine beer. Go there instead of the downtown beer shops. The people at Bier Cellar will be great help. Trust me.

A lot depends on your timing, what day, and time day, you're traveling through. If it were me, and I wanted to fill a fridge with a week's worth of tasty treats, I'd try to time it to hit Deciduous on my way through, then do Bissell > Goodfire > Austin.

Plus, if the stars align, Deciduous could have their Long Live collaboration available at that time.

I think they are my favorite brewery. They make insane haze. I'm drinking some right now for the first time this year. Also, they did very recently post about this collaboration.
Also, there is a backstory to this one...
Last summer I went up to Story Land for a total non-beer vacation. While I was up there I saw that Deciduous and Long Live had done a collaboration and it was currently at Deciduous. I adjusted the route home so we could swing by and get some but it sold out the day before we headed back. I think that beer is still rated as one of Deciduous's best ever.
    The end.
I am currently talking to some studios about the movie rights.

I've hated multiple stops in and out of the car while running errands locally with remembering mask and sanitizing every trip, so although I love Goodfire and Bissell, unless either have a "whale" just released I'd be tempted to park at the industrial park and walk around Austin St, Battery Steele, Definitive and Foundation, along with Allagash for a haze break (assuming that is the primary style you're after). Strap on and take off the mask once, spray your sanitizer when re-entering the car, and you are good!

I can’t speak for the OP, but it looks like he’s more interested in picking up beer for his week at a lake house than he is walking around from brewery to brewery. Besides, Allagash isn’t open for pours, only pick up.

Yeah that was my point, to just walk around grabbing cans at the industrial park instead of driving place to place closer to downtown, nothing to do with drafts. But if all the places are drive up like Bissell then obviously no hassle whatever you choose. Or order ahead at Bier Cellar as mentioned above if they have a variety and there you go.
