Got to visit the Alchemist and Hill Farmstead when we drove to VT on Friday. I have to say that I wasnt very impressed with The Alchemist. I walked in and they really weren't that busy, but didn't get offered a taster, nor even a hello. All I got was a lady behind the bar asking how many cases I wanted. I told her two 4pks and she looked at me like I was crazy. Bummer. The beer was all right I guess. Maybe it was all the hype that I have heard about Heady Topper? I dont know, wasnt too impressed. Opinions. Whatever.

Hill Farmstead on the other hand was awesome. Driving 30 minutes out of Stowe to a dirt road, and then taking that dirt road for another 20 minutes to a random farm in the middle of nowhere, VT was great. Place was small and great. Grabbed a few bottles of what they had, and a few growlers of their stuff as well, and headed back down to Boston.

My buddy lives two blocks from Lord Hobo in Boston so we got to visit there and they have an awesome tap list, and went to Cambridge Brewing Co another night for beers and dinner. All in all a cool trip and stoked I got to see Hill Farmstead finally (and not so stoked that The Alchemist was a let down).

I guess when you sell "the greatest beer on the planet" you don't have to say hello.
