Not surprised by that. I would be shocked though if you came across a dusty bottle of dreadnaught.

Yeah I couldn't imagine Dreadnaught lasting very long there, or anywhere for that matter.

Not to be a know it all but the problem when it isn't fresh it's usually because it was old before it got to Hudson. I think they sometimes get the leftovers from the rest of the state.

Stopped by yesterday. Tons of Dreadnaught ~ looked at it for a second and passed it by. I'm done spending 13 bucks on a bomber when I can get great beer in 4/6 packs and drink it whenever I want, for less. Oh, and growlers of TG and NGBW ~ winning!

I need someone to start bringing someone like you with me. I'm like a suburban girl at the Albertville Outlets when I'm in Hudson, and the last 3 times I've said I spent more than I should have and won't do that again, and I've been there 4 times this month.

They are sellling Dreadnaught for only $1.99 than FFF does at the brewpub carry out window. Great price I think for the convenience of not having to drive 6 hours.

True, but there are way to many great ipa's for way less $ per oz to drop 13 bucks on 22oz of beer. TG pale ale growlers for ten bucks is a solid price

$10 for a fill of a Golden Nugget or $13 for a Dreadnaught bomber? That's not even a decision. So where's my growler?

If it is the same stuff that made its way into Eau Claire (and I have reason to believe it is, as it is the same distributor--not Beer Capitol), it is definitely not fresh and ours was sent back. Little-to-no dry hop/late hop addition character, just muted hops with an overwhelming piney/soapy bitterness. OLD. I'm done with the FFF game. "What should we do with this old Dreadnaught on the shelves in Madison?...oh, we'll just package the shit up and send it to those thirsty bastards in the Western part of the state! They'll eat that shit right up!!"

This is exactly correct. Western WI is a FFF salvage yard.

More people need to start thinking like this. Forget the whole "beer prices are increasing because hipsters buy PBR," the reason that there are crazy prices are because people continue to pay them. Hence, we have all of these breweries that have no reason to become more efficient operations to be able to bring quality product to market at reasonable prices. The reality is that 95% of these breweries like FFF couldn't run a real business like this in any other industry, but because people continue to pay these prices, they have yet to feel the pinch of most businesses in most industries nor the challenges to meet real market demands. Craft beer prices have far outpaced inflation over the past 20+ years, which should never have been the case, because developing sectors should become more efficient and not less efficient as they grow. And while there have been steps in automation, the inefficiencies come from the fact that most of these breweries are run like Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams. If people stop paying these crazy prices like $13 for a bomber of IIPA or any ridiculously priced beer (for its style), then the breweries will be forced to get their acts together or we will simply see the inevitable thinning of the heard that we have all been waiting for anyways.

Its not $13.99 at Casanovas, its $11.99 which is only $2.00 more than the brewery itself sells it for at their carry-out counter.

Still, there is no reason at all that any beer that is not barrel aged should be selling anywhere for > $10. I have had Dreadnaught. That is a $6 to $8 bottle of beer. The problem is that if people will pay $10 to $12 for it, they have yet to feel any need to become more efficient at brewing this level of beer. And this isn't to target FFF, because I have made this argument hundreds of times before and inefficiencies in the craft beer industry certainly extend beyond the breweries. And also, with FFF being the masters of creating hype, they may very well be able to sell this beer at standard margins, but choose not to because they continually manipulate both the supply and demand side of the market for their beers. But I am giving them the benefit of teh doubt that they are not intentionally exploiting their customer base, but instead have yet become efficient enough to bring this product to market at a lower price point.

Has anyone consumed a Dreadnaught from the latest shipment to Hudson? I sent a bottle out in a trade that is bringing Mexican Cake, Cascade Blueberry, KBS, etc. The guy set me up nicely. If it isn't what it should be, I would like to warn the trader so I can start working to fix that deal.

To be fair, they do sell cases of Zombie Dust at the brewery for $35.

There today. TG Pseudo, Zeelander and Golden Nugget avail in growlers. Also had a small snifter each of Green Flash Hop Head Red IPA and Edacsac.
And yes, plenty of Dreadnaught left. Guy claimed they were supposed to be fairly fresh.

Drinking one that I picked up this morning. It's not "straight from the brewery" fresh, but tastes just fine.

It's been awhile since I've been to Hudson but does anyone know if they are carrying any Ale Asylum stuff? They weren't as of last summer but I was hoping that changed...
