I got into trading on Reddit a few months ago (under the same name) and decided to come over here and check things out. I've been lurking the trade forum and beer talk forums for a few weeks and it seems like y'all have a very tight knit community it could be hard to break in to, but I just wanted to say hey, I'm here, and I'm looking forward to doing some trades (although I will say that comparing the BA trade forum to Reddit's makes me a lot more intimidated, you guys sling some super quality brews around here). Cheers, Ryan.
Welcome, Ryan. There's room for all sorts of traders here. Post your first ISO or FT here, even if it's for off the shelf locals, and I'm sure you'll find no shortage of interested parties. Enjoy.
Hey Ryan, I see we both moved over here recently! I am in the same boat as you, it is a little intimidating to see the overall quantity of offers and ISO posts here. Not like Reddit at all but pretty exciting. Hopefully we can hook up again soon for a trade. Loved the extras last time!
ckobes was my first trade, and he was a great trader, went out of his way to find something for me and I really appreciated it.
One thing I dont understand is, if almost every single beer you search online comes up with the BA community and links you to the site, why did you eschew the BA trading boards and embrace Reddit for your first trades? I am not saying it is wrong or somehow deficient, I am just curious because most people come here or Ratebeer first.
Welcome to BA. Trading here is top notch. Although I haven't traded on another site so I may be biased. You will have to ship first for your first few trades but other than that....welcome and have fun.
I've been a member here for some time, but started my trading on reddit first (smaller community). I've found nothing but positive experiences here.
I've been reading BA for reviews for the past few years, though to be honest I wasn't really aware that trading was a thing until people on Reddit constantly mentioned it and directed people posting about looking for beer to the beer trading subreddit.
Welcome! Definitely a great place and trading can be a blast here. Be sure to check out Alewatcher's blog for some helpful tips. #1 piece of advice is to do a few trades with very established traders (30-50+ trades) to get into the swing of things.
I'm just glad to see he has limited his more snarky comments to the "help" threads instead actual ISO's! His posts still consistently make me laugh.
