I am going abroad in a week and when I get back I don't know where I am going to live. I don't even know for sure which state I'll be in. Moving out of my place so I packed my car full and just didn't have room for my brewing stuff. I sold: 6.5 gal bucket with lid 5 gal glass carboy autosiphon racking cane tubing floating thermometer hydrometer bottle capper bottling wand plus some misc ingredients- some extract, grain, and hops All for $25 dollars. I told the guy its the cheapest homebrew starter kit ever. On a semi-related note, I just brewed 5 gallons of cali common which is 2 weeks in bottle on Sunday and I am leaving the country in a week. Not the best planning on my part. My friends will be happy though. The silver lining is that when I'm back and situated I will get all new equipment and hopefully upgrade my old system.
You did make someone happy with that deal. The best of luck to you while abroad. I hope you're going to a beer-rich country.
The beer gods will bless you for passing your equipment along so cheap. May you have many happy fermentations when you return.
Damn, man. I'm sure that was a sad decision but you definitely made someone's day with that deal, so huge beer karma for that. You're right to optimistic about buying all new equipment when you get settled somewhere. I've found an excuse to upgrade almost everything I started out with, now you can upgrade and not have to go through the trouble of finding an excuse.
