I have some friends that will be traveling to kalamazoo in two weeks and need some advice on what to have them pick up and where. Suggestions on what would be available?

Tiffany's and Drakes Party Store are the two major beer stores. There is another in Portage near the mall, although I've never been to it I've heard it's huge. Can't think of the name.

Bell's General Store for some sixers and stop by the pub for a pint or two. Olde Peninsula has some pretty good beer that they brew on site, and they fill growlers of it.

Umm, it's called Mega Bev. Apparently it's on Oakland Drive, I thought it was just off Westnage. It's near Centre and Oakland.

oh lol, thats the shop I frequent actually. They are building a new shop towards down town that is suppose to be quite a bit bigger than Drakes and Tiffanys.

I like that MegaBev is bringing some competition to Kzoo. When I'm in Battle Creek or Marshall, I usually stop in there. I haven't been over to the Portage store yet. Keep an eye on the Munchie Mart right at the corner of Lovell and that funky curve where Michigan turns into Stadium. Salut bought the store, and it sounds like they might be stepping up the beer selection.

No to add a little to the OP's original questions. There is always a lot of Short's available around town. Drake Party Center has a huge selection of singles for mix sixers, and always has a fair bit of Dark Horse. They still had Plead the 5th the last time I was in. They also had FBS, FIS, Double Trouble, etc. Brewery Vivant cans are usually easy to find. Drake also has a lot of Epic Brewing, New Holland, and Jolly Pumpkin bombers. Anything in particular that you were looking for?

I need to make some stops this weekend. I will keep my eyes open for anything good that I see around town. You really couldn't go wrong with just telling them to pick you up whatever Short's and Dark Horse (except Raspberry Ale, not my favorite) they see.
