Whoever added these Bird beers on BA and Untappd has the ABVs all fucked up

Curious as to what you think this did not deliver. The rum was there but not overpowering. Chocolate was prevalent throughout. And as you said quite smooth. Any certain price point there is just going to be no more substantive improvement in quality. This is up there with one of the best Kane Stouts that I've ever had and I've had all of the big ones. Would I buy these beers again at this price point? Absolutely not. But do I feel let down? Also absolutely not

To me this wasn’t up to par with Kane’s other top barrel aged stouts. Good, just not great. Maybe my expectations were too high but considering the price, the long anticipation of the collab, and the fact that antead is part of the base, I don’t think expecting this to be on a higher level is unreasonable. To me it’s a case of the parts being greater than the sum. Like I said though, I still have the 2 other bottles so hopefully those will be better.

Buttered Biscuit in Bradley Beach (BYOB)
    Toast in Asbury Park(BYOB)
    MeeMa's in wall twp (BYOB)
    Cardinal Provision in AP (BYOB)

Porta in Asbury (sit at the bar, unlimited mimosa crafe's)
    Talula's in Asbury
    Modenine in Asbury Park

Can't go wrong with any of them. It really depends what you are looking for. If booze is not a top priority I would go with Buttered Biscuit if you have never been. If you are really fans of sweet Meema's will do the trick.

Talula's and Porta are very good as well. Talula's has some great breakfast pizza and very good cocktails.

That list is fine, but I'll add to it anyway. Not sure what direction you're coming from, Mariners Cove in Brielle, and Turning Point -several locations. Might have to wait a little bit at either on a Sunday.
From previous list, I'd go with Talulahs.

Cardinal provisions' chicken and waffles are not to be missed if you are into that sort of thing.

Adding to this...Talula's getting a lot of hype lately, but I am firmly on team porta. People usually feel strongly in favor of one or the other; talula is good but Porta much better IMO. Plus porta much larger venue with more seating.

The pizza aside (i am lactose intolerant) i think Talula's has a larger more diverse menu at times. Also they have much better drinks/beer IMO as well. And they offer vegan pizza too, i dont think Porta does

thanks all.. will have my young daughter in tow so some spots aren't going to be super doable... though breakfast/brunch pizzas are good and all i'm not sure that is what my group is really going to be seeking... Talula's brunch menu does seem a bit more extensive then Porta tho

Porta def has vegan, BUT you are correct the brunch menu is limited--and only includes the standard vegan pie (still good tho).

As for beer, Porta always has Head High on tap, but I agree Talula has a better list, though not massive.

At the end of the day, you can't really go wrong with either. Anyone that lives within shouting distance of Asbury Park is very lucky

Talula space is very tight; tough with kids

if you go Buttered Biscuit, Bradley Brew Project which I hear is very good, is literally 2-3 doors away...

Crossing my fingers on some sort of good release this weekend. Have to run down and help a buddy at his beach place further South so was thinking of hitting Kane and then making the drive down the garden state. Time will tell...
