It's packed now. Good choice compounding an already busy day with the ba bells with the EQ collab.

Moving extremely slow. Also numerous cutters. I’m gonna lose it if I just miss out after waiting an hour.

Walked in at 4:40pm. Got 2 4pks of Whale Pond and a sample of DDH Sneakbox. No line. Pretty much like a normal Saturday. Talked to the door man, he mentioned that in the first few hours it was mayhem.

got there around 11:30 yesterday. Line was out to and around the corner. I was around #90. Guy said people starting lining up around 10am, crazyness.

Opened a bottle of each last night. Really enjoyed both. the ba beans added a different level of sweetness i am not used too. saw lots of ppl maxing out on bottles and cans

Fractal Shores is pretty great. Worth the shitshow of a line yesterday.

I don’t think it is at all. Tasting perfect to me. Also the canning date is 8/6.

Question here... when it is tasting "green" is this more of a bitter overpowering hop flavor?

not sure if i can tell or have ever experienced, but superious curious if i can

I kind of wonder the same. I see the term being thrown around all the time but either I have a low sensitivity to it or it’s not as common as reviews would make it seem. I can remember maybe 1 or 2 times where a beer tasted different for the better after just a week or 2.

That makes sense to me. I can tell a difference when i feel a beer is starting to trail off and the hops or flavors change or are not prevelant, but green I would always assume as "hop burn"

I have been more cognizant of off flavors in stouts as opposed to ipas

I’ve always thought of “bitter hop flavor” and “green” being distinct from one another... “green” being something the brewer wasn’t trying to achieve, a burn on the back of the throat from hop particulate, versus “bitter” ie more piney and resinous hop notes that are intentional. I don’t remember instances of tasting “green” beers from anyone more than a few weeks old.

This is pretty accurate from what I take something being call "green" to be. Certain beers have the resinous or piney bitterness that was purposely drawn out of the hops for the beer itself. Other times a beer that might have been pulled, canned, and sold to quickly will have a burn and/or wont be as smooth as perhaps it was intended to be. I don't think I really have ever seen it with a Kane beer before, that I can recall. They due a good job of canning and letting the beer sit if they think it needs a little more time, however other breweries don't do that as often.

Even if a beer day 1 of sales is perfect to someone and the brewer, there could be a palate who finds its harsh to themselves, but more improved over time. Everyone is different, but i had seen some people saying that in their reviews. I can't wait to try this one though!

Other Half and Veil are two prominent breweries where I’ve experienced “green” beers in the past, I don’t recall every having a Kane one that was green but then again I very rarely buy hoppy beers from them.

Historically/homebrewing green just meant a beer wasn’t ready. Not carbed, secondary’d, basically not ready to drink. It obviously is used differently now in the haze bro era/untappd era. Though I guess technically it’s still being use right but I guess only to refer to the hop side of a beer not being ready.

The first place I ever read that term was in Charlie papazians book when learning to brew before the internet was the awesome resource it is now.

Sorry for the wordy response just wanted to add my two cents.

Yeah, in the industry it referred to beer that hasn't been matured/conditioned/ lagered long enough or properly.
