Local merchants are doing "Shop.Here.Now" block party on Cookman from 12 to 5 both days this weekend.

Carton Brewing is only like 30 mins north of Kane. I’d say well worth checking out you since you’re making the long drive anyway (that’s my play whenever I make the 1.5 hr trip lol)

Carton cans are widely available in distribution and Carton is a BITCH to get to. Suggest going to Wegmans near Kane for the Carton and other NJ canned beers, and then also bring your growlers and check out the source brewery or little dog

Can’t believe no one has suggested you stop at Yale Terrace yet.

    Do better guys!

I don't think the drive is that bad that bad at all, personally. Just a bunch of pain in the ass lights but that's about it. Then again, I learned how to drive in Boston, so maybe our standards of 'pain in the ass' are different lol.

I like their cool little taproom. Yes, most of their stuff gets distributed. There are a few things they have that is brewery only or local-only but, for me, I do not base my brewery visit decisions on how rare/difficult to get the beer is. I just go if I like the beer they brew. If that were not the case I'd be going to Suarez, Treehouse, Tired Hands, Trillium, etc a shit-ton more than I already am.

I get where you're coming from, though. To each their own, I guess!:beers:

Someday I’ll be able to post on BA from my phone without typos or sounding like a deranged madman, but it will not be this day

Except for the fact that this weekend is the Sea Hear Now festival and rooms aren't available. I'll be there (staying in Tinton Falls) and am happy that I only have to drive 15 minutes away for 10am pick up opposed to an hour.

Edit - didn't read all of the replies before posting.

probably not the right place to ask, but i totally forgot about this and wanted to get tickets to watch a couple bands. can you still wander the boardwalk that day and ya know... kinda get a free show like people do for the SP Summer Stage? i imagine the boardwalk might only be ticket access that day? and i realize i probably won't even try b/c there won't be parking anywhere in the area.

I think the boardwalk south of the convention center is open but you cannot see over to the north side. Maybe if you go down to the jetty rocks near the convention center but it will be difficult. So while you can probably hear it would not be great IMO, and probably not worth the hassle unless you live nearby...

[ to keep this on topic. They do have Kane head high on tap at Porta, if you do go]

I would say the drive to Carton from Kane is annoying. I recently moved, but prior I was 30 mins or less from Kane with normal traffic 20-25 without any. But to get to Carton from Kane it was another 25/30 and then still another 25/30 to get back home. All on the way but adds time. For someone coming from Philly, it would be putting themselves out of the way more I feel like as well.

That being said I am now like 15/20 from Carton if not less in my new place and like 20ish from Kane.. woot!

Yeah true. I thought he was staying in the area, which is why I thought it wouldn’t be that bad of a side trip.

You gotta go big, getting rewarded for your long drive. Great stuff.

Is it weird that they had an online sale for barrel aged anniversary bottles this week and now they’re just releasing other barrel aged anniversary bottles at the brewery without an online sale the same weekend?

It is bizarre. Who knows how they decide these things anymore. I almost feel like online really may not be needed anymore except maybe ANTEAD. I bet even the brunches would last the day.

Only reason I tend to like the online stuff is because life doesn’t permit me to wing it an hope for no line etc these days. If I make a drive up there it’s nice to know that as long as I go at the right time that I can get in and out when I end up buying the eventbrite stuff.

No one really goes hard for the bourbon anny so they prob think these weird ass bals won’t phase them much.

Online decision most likely stemmed from the “commemorate,” given the description storied and labeled as “maple syrup drenched French toast”

A different story, had this been on its own…imaginably
