I’ve had some stouts aged in red wine barrels that I really liked. Nice change up from usual adjuncts.

I have the luxury of setting my own work schedule and working at home whenever I want. I was not expecting a huge crowd at 1 or 2pm but rather later in the day. I obviously have no idea wtf I am talking about.

Holy crap on the Black Friday release. Hot damn.

I've never had donut shack before. Quite mediocre. If released by Cypress or some other middle of the road brewery it would either get trashed, or not get mentioned at all. Not kane's best work.

@J5ryall any reason in particular? Too sweet, cloying,...? I’ve never tried either but it is interesting how quick it sold out. I’m guessing I’d feel the same as you considering what is in it. You are right though “kane” is enough for people to say it’s great and sell it out that quickly.

I went to the BF release last year, but don't remember how early the line got going. What do you think I'm looking at here? probably a steady line at 10 already, right? I don't mind getting there too early, can always just go peruse Wegmans.

I’m not a vanilla / cacao connoisseur. And this is not a knock on Kane who I think generally keep things tasteful as far as stout additions go. But does 87 types of cacao/vanilla elevate things? Presumably they sort of muddy/overpower each other. Like I read PNG vanilla is delicate/floral....

It’s only 11 types. That should be easy to discern!

I know last year the first people got in line before 9AM. I got there around 11AM and the line was wrapped around the second building and into the trees behind that.

I was told first in line last year was around 8:45. i got there at 10:30. It was fucking cold, it was windy, it was not fun. The line moved slow if i recall as well.

I planned on going again with a buddy and bringing breakfast around 11, hoping they have ramped up production, but the variety of options has me worried it will be a shit show of old school Other Half proportions

Not too sweet or cloying, just kind of a mediocre IPA taste. Apple cider flavor isn't there all that much and not melding well with the base beer. Having again now with a relative who said "not very good."

    Malus on the other hand....

I’m gonna leave my house at 11, which is only 20 mins away. It’s it’s insane I’ll go back home

i'd guess the Bells might be around later in the day, but the 2 new ones will definitely be gone. that being said i'm also an idiot so i can be completely wrong.

Beer is the one of the few things that can’t be replaced with online shopping. Good for Kane for keeping Black Friday alive.

Hmmm I don’t know. Some of Kane’s beers (and others’) are purchased online.

Anyone going before 12 mind posting what the situation is like? I can’t make it till later but would rather pass all together than stand in a huge line. Thanks in advance for anyone that does. Cheers.

Thinking of going later in the day also to avoid the lines. Really only interested in a 4pk or so of the Evening Bell.

I went with Greyvtrayn last year. IIRC we showed up around 3 and everything but Morning Bean was sold out. I have to work today, so I'll likely miss it. The Boardwalk Twist and the Maplewood are the most intriguing to me. Good luck and stay warm!

Just using today as example. People wake up early and stand in the cold for hours. That’s more than I can say for like 90% of the retailers that used to be able to draw lines this day.
